A little dark, but quiet and safe

My apartment is a little dark (even in full sunlight), but it's quiet and very safe. It's also within walking distance to so many great places downtown and to IU campus.

The Kirkwood

Pricey but good quality; located downtown in a very walkable area.

The Kirkwood

I'm very happy with my decision to lease at The Kirkwood. It has a great location that allows me to walk almost everywhere I need to go. The building is secure, and management and maintenance are responsive. It's a pricier option but the floor plan is large and there's extra storage available in the garage. The gym is small but it's almost always empty, so I'm able to use any equipment I want.

The only word of caution is if your unit is located closer to Kirkwood versus the south side of the block, there can be some noise from vehicle/foot traffic, as well as some light from street lights. These shouldn't be disqualifying factors though.

Occasional loud neighbors

Overall it's a great place. Neighbors are mostly professionals, graduate students, and people who have retired. One or two undergraduate tenants can be loud on game weekends.

Quiet, wisely designed apartments

Nicely located close to downtown ares minus the noise. Responsible and organized leasing team and maintenance team. Quiet neighbors mostly comprised of graduate students or professionals. Reserved underground parking. IU graduate students get monthly discount. Only con is that the parking lot can be narrow. Some apartments do not get adequate direct sunlight. Pets friendly.

Great spot

The apartments and building are very nice. Quiet but there are other grad students and families in the building. Maintenance is good and the location is as close you can be to the action without being in the action.

The Kirkwood

It’s clean, safe because of auto rock, and quiet even though it is located in downtown. Also, the response from the management company is great. Kroger is 5 mins walk. It’s a bit inconvenient to ride a bus and to go to Kelley in winter or on rainy day but you can walk to school by 20-30 mins.

The Kirkwood

My experience at The Kirkwood has been great so far. The building is very quiet, and management is responsive to maintenance requests. Although The Kirkwood is relatively expensive compared to other options, the building is in a good location in the downtown area and my unit is spacious and in great condition. The only drawback I have experienced so far is that the building is directly next to the Hyatt, so I commonly hear trucks making deliveries early in the morning.

Found the apartment on short notice and will spend all three years here. Great location, comfortable, spacy.

Clean and Quiet

The Kirkwood has graduate students and professionals that live at the property so it tends to be quieter. There is a small gym with a few peices of equipment and a covered/secured garage. There is plenty of storage at this property. Each parking space has a small storage unit and there are plenty of closets/cabinets (coat, utility, large linen closet, walk-in in the bedroom). The only downside is that the lighting in the apartment is not great, so you will need lamps and there is no fan in the bedroom.
