Avoid the dump

Living at a landfill site would be better because at least living amongst trash wouldn’t cost $2,000/month. My bedroom floods each time it rains, maintenance cancels work orders, management is nonexistent, security doesn’t exist, and there is trash EVERYWHERE. Forget grounds maintenance; this place has dog poop and pee in the stairwells, garbage lining the halls, and wet carpet throughout the building. The lobby is deceiving and the pictures of the pool are fake. The pools was closed the last 1.5 years I lived here. Please take your money anywhere else.

Comfortable

The apartment itself is quite large and my room is definitely cozy. It has a super nice pool and gym! My only wishes were that it had study rooms! Other than that 4th street is a very good place to live and super close to campus!

Law Student Apartment Living

I really enjoy my apartment building. I moved to Miami from Colorado without ever visiting in person and the move went very smoothly! The building is very quiet, like you wouldn’t even know anyone lives there. It is generally very clean and very safe with 24/7 security that walks around the building throughout the night. The only complaint I have is that management can be difficult to contact via phone or email and there aren’t many front desk staff to help during peak times like move-in day. Overall, I think I chose the best apartment to live in as a law student from out of state. It is a great price (literally cheaper than ANYWHERE near campus by a lot), a nice building that comes furnished, friendly neighbors, and easy to live in near campus.

4th street commons

It's very mediocre, you get what you pay for. Most people are students, that being said it can be loud sometimes but it is a very safe place to live and is very close to campus. The gym and pool leave a lot to be desired, but the cheap cost of rent makes up for it.

Complex

The amenities are great! The apartment is much bigger than the others in the area and I think the best overall for graduate students because it is smaller and quieter in my opinion.
There is a market on the 3rd floor which has been extremely convienent and the complex utilizes Amazon Hub to get packages which is awesome.
Maintenance is extremely helpful and I have never had an issue management or maintenance couldn’t resolve.
The community could use some more visitor parking spots but that’s about it.

You Get What You Pay For

You can expect average student housing at 4th Street Commons. For slightly over $600 per month for my 1/1 in a 4/4 this is adequate housing. The location is extremely close to FIU campus with about a 5 minute drive to the law school. The complex is neither clean nor dirty and management does an OK job at fulfilling maintenance requests in a timely manner. The gym is subpar - a lot of equipment is broken and needs replaced. Other amenities like the billiards room and "office" complex are also not very usable. The pool is nice. I previously had neighbors that would party and smoke until about 3-4AM every night and security/management did nothing about it.

4th St. Commons

4th St. Commons is a short walk away from FIU main campus and a short drive (10 minutes) from the FCC campus. The units are fully furnished and the prices are reasonable for a comfortable unit.
