Very close to Ross, but not the most amazing place to live

Just like any other apartment there are pros and cons to this one, so I'll just list them below!
Pros:
- Very close to Ross - literally 6 minutes walking
- Very close to downtown Ann Arbor, the IMSB (gym), and the Big House - again walking <15 minutes
- Water is included in rent
- 1 parking spot (uncovered) included in rent
- Some units have been updated w/ newer kitchens & laminate hardwood floors (I don't know if all units have been updated)

Cons:
- Very expensive for a building that is basically ignored by the property managers (super old mailbox system, lights in stairwells/hallways that are always burned out, no snow removal on property walkways)
- Pretty thin walls so can get loud on game days, but usually ok most other times although the stairwells echo pretty loudly and you can definitely hear people coming in and out of the building at all times of day/night
- Management company was very difficult to work with during the initial leasing process - it took them over a month to approve our application and to send us a lease to sign
- Most move in dates are very late August/early September for this building but sometimes early move-in can be negotiated if tenants wave their rights to have the apartment professionally cleaned prior to move-in (that's what we did and it was ok)
- Overall customer service of management company is lackluster - they honestly don't care so don't expect a 5 star experience.
- Shared laundry - there are 2 washing machines and 2 dryers that are shared by the entire building (probably 24ish people living here). Usually it's not a huge problem, but it is a bummer to not have in-unit laundry for the price of rent

I would say overall the apartment has met our basic needs but it's likely we will be looking for a new place to live next year.
