Great Apartment
I love my apartment. It's large, gets great sunlight, and is in a great location. The only issue is that the heaters aren't adjustable: they either have to be on or off. This makes for strange arrangements in the winter (e.g., heaters on (because they have to be since it's winter in Chicago), but a window or two open so that it isn't too hot inside)

Good Building
Good building if you're looking for an inexpensive and no-frills, but good, apartment. The apartment is recently renovated and well heated. Building is maintained fairly well.

Good Property
The apartment is spacious and recently renovated. The floors are hardwood with a tiled kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher, and microwave. Maintenance is sometimes slow to respond, but otherwise the leasing company is good. There are locked doors/gates to get into the building in addition to the door of the unit.

Everett Hyde Park
The property is very good if you like to live in a fairly no-nonsense community. It's relatively small (only 2 apartments per floor). There are no unnecessary interactions with doormen or other residents. The apartments were renovated last year, so they look very nice and have up-to-date appliances, air conditioning, flooring, fixtures, etc. This property also has the largest studios in the Hyde Park area (540 sq ft; it's meant for 2 people). Management is very prompt with maintenance requests. It is fairly secure (remote entry at main door). My only complaints are creaky floors, no gym, and occasional noise from other apartments having parties on weekends. It's also only one block from the 55th street lake access to promontory point, where I go almost daily!
