Ed Gay Apartment
Overall, the experience has been good. The setting is majorly a family setting. The residential staff are awesome. A principal concern is the condition of the room. This could be due largely to the attitude or behavior of those living in those spaces. Taking responsibility for the room, to keep them clean helps to reduce presence of cockroaches and mold. Often times you notice some drainage issue within the compound. The facility workers are awesome, highly responsive to issues within or outside your apartment. You need to provide your own furniture like bed, table, etc. But this is not much of a problem. There are people, or organizations willing to provide you with these if available. Access to hurricane support is impressive. Power, water and internet are incredible. Keep the rooms aerated. You can keep away cockroaches by keeping refuge bin for the kitchen waste constantly closed and disposing them regularly. Always scrub the kitchen top with a little soap and plenty water, then dry. Keep the refrigerator clean always. If you use bicycle, use the best of locks to secure them. There are new washing machines and dryers. Generally, the neighborhood is friendly. There's playground/recreation for children; basketball court and a large field.

Inside Apartments
my experience at Edward Gay is good. However, it needs a few things to be upgraded like AC is not working well sometimes, especially in winter it stops working. The old system needs to be replaced. Another issue is there are no closets door and spacing is the biggest issue similarly, curtain rails are very old and not suitable for curtains.

Gated community
Edward gay apartment is gated community. Safe for children and families and of course others also. The colleges are in walking distance so is family dollar and CVS pharmacy. There are many eating places like Raisin canes, Chipotle, Burger King, Tailor, salon etc.
The university lake is also nearby if someone wants to go for morning or evening walk. Edward gay apartment is a good option.
The management is nice and so is maintenance staff.

Edward Gay Apartment Review
3 bed 1 bath apartment is about 800 square feet but all utilities are included. Maintenance is very quick if you have any issues. 15 minute walk to the law school. Great location if you're on a budget. Ed Gay is the married student dorm that has families with children but single grad students live here as well.

Undignified “historical” place.
Although rent is cheap, close by campus, staff friendly, the apartment complex is old and the deterioration has not handled well.
I experience health issues because of mold and lost many personal belongings because they where infested with mold, no one took responsibility. The only solution staff did, was just to clean some areas of the ceiling and walls. AC units is very old and brakes constantly. Neither on “non-development” countries people cohabiting under this conditions, no less when you they are paying for a place. This is a LSU property which embarrassed an University that supposedly holds a degree on Architecture, seems restoration is not important. No long ago (2y+), the university released an article that confirms what I experience. I do not recommend this complex, no for international students, this is not a dignified place to live.

Great on campus option
While the apartments are unfurnished, the space flows great. It is open to many possibilities and finding good pieces of furniture for cheap is easy to do. It is part of campus, no more than a 10-minute walk to the Quad, but it an escape from campus. Additional to all utilities included, you have great maintenance service from Facilities Services and security from LSU Police. It is close to the Garden/Perkins route and the Sunday Shuttle. It is located on North Gate so you have CVS, Family Dollar, various gas stations, and restaurants nearby.

Apartment Review
Comparatively, it is one of the cheapest apartments around LSU. The apartment is well managed and the management is prompt in responding to complaints regarding maintenance. The environment is great and LSUPD constantly provides surveillance. It is right by LSU campus. The only perpetual problem is roaches!
