Overall rating 7.0/10, based on 3 renter reviews Write a review
Would recommend the domain to others.
Really enjoy my experience at the domain. They are very helpful and are good at building a community by having events. Getting to campus without a parking pass is a breeze because of the bus that picks you up right at the front. Coffee machine, pool, gym are also a nice plus because I do not need to go that far to get these things.

Domaine at Oxford
Condition - The website claimed that the rooms were renovated and even had a walk-through video, however, when I arrived, the rooms were anything but renovated! Furniture in the kitchen was broken, in the bath there was mold and hair from the previous owner, and the rug dirty.
Room- There's a large bed, chair and small table and a large closet space, which is great. Every room has their own en-suite, but the shower has absolutely no pressure. That is all the furniture you get! I ordered bedding, bed-sheets, bath-mat, toilet-brush, the simplest things via amazon before I arrived, so when I arrived I was able to sleep on sheets at least.
Security - It claims to be a gated community, however, everyone I have met (who does not live there) knows the code for the gate. Additionally, the gate had been broken for the entire Semester 1 of me living here. Even after it was 'fixed' it still stands open most of the time.
Pool - mostly closed due to covid, looks nice though.
Management - They are nice. However, it is impossible to get an application started without a SSN-number, which obviously international students don't have. Management wasn't able to help me at all, they were stunted at the possibility of a person existing without an SSN number. I had to bypass the system by continuously repeating no SSN and refreshing until the system was so broke it let me through. Same thing goes, of course, for the guarantor if they exist outside of USA. The system that decided if a guarantor is good for his money is sooo flawed, because they pull them through US credit score system, which for an abroad living guarantor will never make sense as they don't have credit scores in the US!
Additionally, they ask for a US phone number, which international students don't have! Additionally it seems that Management is unable to respond to inquires via email. They are only able to communicate through phone, which is seriously flawed when one doesn't have a US number.
Overall, the application to this complex was incredibly ridicules and not very customer friendly (although, I have heard from other international students that other places like the Archive and the Hub have similarly difficult approaches to applications).
Roommate selection - sad, all I have in common with my roommates is that we have similar jobs.
Transit - the bus system only works from 8 am until 11 am, from then on out, 1 hour transit time is the minimum I have to calculate to get to class on time. Such a shame. (there's a bus stop right at the gate which is something at least).
Forget about a bicycle, because there's only a few bicycle lanes, but forget about getting over a bridge! Same goes for walking on foot.
Location - You need a car! It's near to impossible to get from the complex to a grocery store. Hopefully, there will be a roommate who can drive you, because a student without a car will starve. There's also no possibility of crossing a road safely, because there's no pedestrian walkways and the roads are too highly trafficked.
It might also be interesting to note that the farthest room is about an 8 minute walk to the gate, so when using the bus add at least 10 min to your transit. Also when arriving directly from the airport (like I did) and you have multiple bags, it might be good to make the driver wait until you get your keys, so you don't have to walk up a hill for 8 minutes with two bags and a carryon and a backpack.
Noise - It gets rowdy during Football weekends... other than that it's surprisingly quiet.
Temperature - All rooms are interconnected when looking at the thermometer. If you are roomed with someone from the US they like their rooms AC-ed. My roommate had the AC at 60 degrees Fahrenheit, until I arrived and I had to plead her to turn it up to 65. During winter, my roommates didn't think heating is necessary. I finally convinced them to do so when it snowed. Just keep that in mind when rooming with others. (or bring warm clothes

Really good place to live
I have lived in some not so good places during my college years, but the Domain is the favorite place I’ve lived. I feel safe and don’t have to worry all that much about noise. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. Parking is included in the price, but if you want an assigned spot you will have to pay extra. Visitors are allowed to park anywhere that is not numbered and unfortunately that is also the case for residents who do not have an assigned spot. I have never had any issues finding a place to park but it is sometimes a little frustrating to have to compete for a spot at your own apartment. It is gated which helps add to the security. It has great amenities and lots of floorplan options. Overall, it’s a really good place to live!
