Overall rating 7.0/10, based on 1 renter review Write a review
A keen eye will spot the issues, but overall it is pretty good.
Neighbors I have met are all at least a handful of years above college/recent graduate age and have been pleasant to speak to. I have yet to hear any neighbors moving around or making noise at night. The staff are also very polite.
The grounds around the apartments are beautiful, and so are the exteriors of the buildings. Depending on which way your apartment faces, you'll have a great mountain view. The location is close to center-city but far enough away to be quiet. You can grab the essentials from stores within a 5 minute drive, and more niche desires can be obtained within a ~20 minute drive. I-81 (the main way to get out of Roanoke and drive a fair distance) is about 5 minutes away.
All of that said, there are some issues with the apartment itself, though most are minor... the kind of stuff where you'd need experience in maintenance/construction/home renovation to spot it (i.e. imperfect cabinet door alignment [less than 1/8"], imperfect wall paint [a few drips], etc.) The things that needed attention were easy to fix [re-caulk and paint the edges where the top of the shower and bathroom wall meet], a few odd doorstops needed to be added to keep doors/walls from being damaged, etc.
If you want flawless, fork out the extra $300/mo for an apartment in a newer complex. If you want a nice place to live but don't need granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood floors, this place is a good one to take a look at.
