The Atrium
The neighborhood is not the best for bars and restaurants, but is extremely close to the school so is great for school access. Because of the proximity to the school, there is no need to pay for school parking. However, you do need to pay for parking at the building which is about $100, but it is in a garage so it is more convenient and secure than street parking. The property management is friendly and incredibly responsive. Have never had a pest problem, cannot hear my neighbors on either side, above or below. Only frequent noise comes from city noise (cars, sirens, etc.). High ceilings (11 ft on outside-facing apartments) with large windows (8 ft in outside-facing apartments). Washer and dryer is NOT in every unit but IS on every floor, and is really easy to do. No real community study space/you wont be surrounded by other students in the same way you might at somewhere like 2Hopkins or Prosper, but value is much better.

Unit is nice but safety outside is a concern
I really like the unit itself. It is spacious, filled with light, and has lots of storage space. The management team members are all so friendly and kind. There is an outdoor space that has tables that are nice to do work at. It does get noisy being on Howard Street with the light rail. The walls are pretty thin, and I can hear my neighbors play their music, but I think this is to be expected with apartment living.

Very nice apartment
The apartment complex itself is very nice. It is clean, and the management is professional and friendly. The neighbor is a little sketchy, but there is 24-hour security, and you won't notice until you leave the building. There is also someone at the front desk 24/7.

Good for students
Honestly, it is great, accessible to the light rail, and 24/7 concierge, and the maintenance is on-point. The rent is a little higher because of the proximity to downtown etc. It's 1534 base rent plus 80-150 utilities per month and you have to pay for internet yourself. They do give you a deal if you are a student so that is nice.

Review of The Atrium
The management at The Atrium are fantastic, the rooms are very spacious with high ceilings, laundry and garbage/recycling disposal are conveniet, and they have incentives for UMD grad students (no security deposit, no credit check, no co-signer)! The walls are thin and if you have noisy neighbors you'll hear them, and I have had issues with my dishwasher and shower, but management and maintenance were responsive to these issues. The location (Howard Street) is not the best but very close to school!

where I live
it's modern with a young vibe. everyone is always doing something. I enjoy the industrial feel of the building. the management company is also very timely with their responses which is nice they even change the light bulbs for me because I hate doing chores.

Central, but at a cost
If you work downtown and do not want to commute, this is an excellent option. That being said, the lightrail and some of the businesses in near the building attract a slightly sketchy crowd. The price is not great, but is lower than the other condos in the area.

Great amenities, but management needs to be better
The first day of moving in we noticed insect larvae in the kitchen. Lots of empty promises from management about handling the situation, but not much follow through.
The neighborhood isn't the safest or the prettiest but it's close to the harbor and lots of good restaurants (also the hippodrome).
The front desk people are all amazing and are the reason I am staying.they are the real managers of the building!

The Atrium review
Pros: the location doesn't have best reputation, but I have never had any issues; close to harbor, bars and great restaurants; spacious apartment; people at the front desk and maintenance are great; garden atrium.
Cons: love the atrium shape, but not much sunlight in our apartment (facing the atrium); communication with management could be better.

Atrium at Market Place was a pleasant experience. The management was always greeted you by name and very welcoming. The apartment itself was very pleasant and well kept. Any issues were taken care of immediately by maintenance. The location was not the best but overall I felt pretty safe.

Downtown Reviews
Have only been offered crack once in two years.
Additionally, this area is not known to be a super safe area of Baltimore, but since we are located so close to the school, there is constant security around. I have never felt unsafe walking to and from school and my apartment.
