Good spot of college students

Outside of the complex does not look the nicest but the inside is nicer. Good management and timely repairs when submitted.

Affordable and Close

For about 4 years I have lived in the Village and I would say that it has been overall a good experience. I’m the time that I have lived here they have added a community area with pools, restaurants, bars, a baseball field, and a lot more. With the new amenities I expected the rent to go up, but the Hill has stayed pretty close to the same. It is pretty safe to walk around at night and I haven’t experienced anyone take packages left on my door, however, there have been times that I left my car unlocked and had someone go through my stuff. Most of the buildings are 2 floors which is convenient for moving and parking is readily available.

Great- inexpensive, great location, tons of amenities

We've lived here for a little over two years, in two different Village neighborhoods and have lived both. Our current residence is very quiet since it's away from the main road and has tons of convenient parking. It is a townhome style, with two bedrooms upstairs, each with their own bathroom. The kitchen is pretty small, which for me is the only downside to the apartment. It does come with a washer/dryer. All the appliances are fairly new and well work great. There are three small pools located around the neighborhood. Management has been excellent with community notices, lease paperwork, and maintenance has been super fast and good. As a resident you get a gym membership and access to the Den which is a community space to hang out. They are almost done building their club house which will have a lot more community space. The Village runs events for the community weekly at the Den like game nights or quiz nights. There is a dog park about a 6-7 minute walk away. The SMU shuttle pickup is about 7-8 minute walk from my apartment. The area to the south has a lot of restaurants and some shops, and there are four different grocery stores within a 5 minute drive. Only one is within a reasonable walking distance, Tom Thumb.

Convenient

This place is right across the highway from SMU and is conveniently located near a lot of Dallas staples. The management and maintenance team are wonderful and you get a lot of space for a good price, which is hard to find in Dallas. It's an older complex, but any issues are corrected quickly.

Vickery Meadow Reviews

Vickery Meadow probably wouldn't have been our first choice because it can feel claustrophobic due to the density of apartments. However, our little corner has almost none of this feel. Holly Glen is tucked in a corner and backed by a forest. We're not comfortable with my wife walking alone apart from the SoPac (and then we try to shoot for times when it's busy). That said, we feel generally safe.
I honestly didn’t recognize this neighborhood name until I looked it up. Outside of the Village, the area doesn’t have much of an identity. Retail options nearby are nice and restaurants are good, but there isn’t much of a social scene. You’ll want to head down to lower Greenville, uptown, oak lawn, or deep ellum for bars and things to do. All of those are a short, cheap uber away so it isn’t a big deal.
While the Village feels like an escape from the city, Greenville ave. is right there, giving easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and other kinds of shopping. Dallas proper is only about twenty minutes away by car, and DART is also nearby and easy to use. I have a 5-10 minute commute to campus most days, and if I didn't want to drive, the SMU express has several stops in the Village, making it easy to take (free!) public transportation.
I like the neighborhood. It is quiet and pedestrian friendly. It is great if you are a jogger or have a dog! There are sidewalks, a walking/running path, and a dog park across the street and accessible to anyone living in the Village.
I also like that there are three different grocery stores within a two-mile radius and many eateries off Greenville.
The entire Village property is beautiful and feels pretty safe; however, the surrounding areas are somewhat rundown and don't feel safe. I'm definitely glad that my complex is gated but would feel safer with more restricted access to the Village and apartment buildings.
Everyone in the neighborhood minds their business, and it is fairly quiet. This neighborhood is also a great place to meet up with friends since they have a number of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Easy to get around, shop, etc. Good grocery stores and gas stations nearby. Quick access to 75. Mostly chain restaurants but clean and high quality. Easy to get to SMU, North Park.
If your neighbors are students then it might be fine. If your neighbors are those who stay at home all the time and living on government subsidies, then it won't be pleasant.
