Consider Overlook at Stonemill while at LUCOM!
Overall, the apartment complex is quiet and well taken care of. These are older apartments, so the interior is a little dated, but not terribly so. However, since the apartment is older, there is great insulation and I rarely hear my neighbors. The location is really nice because you can get right on the 501 and go right to the med school.
There is ample parking and it has a walking path around a pond. Each apartment has a balcony/patio (we live on the first floor so we have a patio, which is larger than the balconies on the upper floors). The gym is rather small, but it works when you're in a pinch for time/don't want to drive to main campus to workout. There is a pool and a clubhouse that provides free snacks and drinks. However, the clubhouse closes at 6 on weekdays, so I don't use it to study since I usually get out of class in the late afternoon. In addition to this, I have heard that a maintenance request can take a few days to weeks to get taken care of if it is not urgent.
This apartment complex is in a convenient location in proximity to the medical school AND you live 1 minute from Aldi. It is a little pricy for a 1 bedroom as no utilities are included and there are other monthly fees (trash fee - $15, sewer fee - $15, renter's insurance - $15, plus electric and water). However, if someone is looking to get a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, this would lower the rent considerably (if they have roommates), making this an extremely affordable place to live. Even though I live with my husband in a 1 bedroom apartment, we are able to comfortably live on just my loans (he is also a student).
I highly recommend this apartment complex as the few critiques that I have hardly affect my day-to-day life. I am going to continue living here during my second year because I like the complex so much!

Great experience At Overlook!
I live alone in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apt at overlook. This complex has some students but also includes families, couples, older people, etc. It is a bit more secluded and closer to Forest than the school, but it is only 10-15 min to school and I appreciate the limited congestion of the area. Close by to lots of food options as well. I also love that they put on many resident events throughout the year and are often giving away free food and other things. I like that the pool doesn’t close until October and reopens in April. No issues with parking, can have guests park anywhere. Property also has some paths to walk on and several grills throughout for residents to use. There also is a small gym in the clubhouse that is open to residents as well as free coffee in the clubhouse. my only complaint is that I had some maintenance issues when I first moved in and some miscommunications that weren’t resolved for a few months, but they were friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. I also feel that the property is generally safe and have never been concerned for my safety while living there. In addition, there is a church directly across the street that is very convenient. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience there and would highly recommend!

Not worth the price
Maintenance has gotten better: in 2023 they had one man on staff, so things went undone when he was away. It took several months and me going in person to the office for them to fix my washer and dryer. Recently, they came within a day to replace my fridge unit after it had broken and thawed all my food, so the service has improved. They will add on charges like additional trash fee for all residents if one person somewhere in the complex leaves a bag of trash in the hallway or a $100 pet fee randomly tacked on to the rent (I do not have a pet). They had to close the pool in fall 2023 for sanitation reasons. The gym is only open from 8-5 on weekdays, so students cannot use it. It is quiet: the walls are thick, so neighbors are not bothersome. They do not allow automatic payment setup, so it has to be done manually every month, and the portal sometimes shuts down and does not allow access. The water is not good, so I recommend a filter pitcher.
