Okay place to live when you are a student
I moved in to the Berks when I was a sophomore in college. Compared to living on campus, the Berks is pretty cheap. But for what they have in there as amenities and management, I don't think it's worth the price. The only reason I'm still staying there is because of its proximity to school.

Convenient for American Univ. Students and the Red Line
The Berkshire Apartment is very convenient if you are a student at American University or work on the red line due to the N2 and N3 bus line picking up right across the street! They have made improvements such as a newly renovated gym and nice convenience store.

Typical Off-Campus on campus experience
The Berks was an average place to live for a student first time living off campus. It was both off-campus yet somewhat still on-campus. This is because American University rents some of the floors out for students. The location was great for school. Close to the metro and has a bus stop right outside. The management was poor, amenities were average. Honestly, this place is nothing too special but will work for students wanting to try life on their own.

Pricey but convenient
I'm a student at American U and the location is great. Campus is a short walk away and there's a convenience store close by. There is also a bus stop in front of the building that will take you to the metro if you need to get into DC. The building is nice and it doesn't seem like the walls are too thin. My studio is spacious enough and I had no problems fitting all of my things in there. The staff was also really helpful and I didn't have any problems moving in. The price I'm paying for a studio seems high and I'm planning on moving out once I find something close to campus that's cheaper.

Berkshires
This apartment is filled with elderly people and college students, making it quite an interesting atmosphere. It's nothing fancy, but the housing is adequate for two people in a one bedroom. The location is away from all the hustle and bustle of DC and near Rock Creek Park.
