The Gramercy reviews and highlights
- building is amazing from the outside
- a ton of amenities and rooftop pool with amazing views
- modern, spacious apartments
Solid building + location
The apartments aren't super fancy, but that also means they don’t pretend to be luxury apartments with paper thin walls. Amazon has done so cool stuff with the area so there’s a nice park with a farmers market 2x a week and new cafes and stuff coming in. A block away from Costco, where you will get your cheapest student meal with the hot dogs. No issues with safety. Annoying to get to campus but it’s on the yellow and blue lines, so if you’re prioritizing possibly getting to work or other places, it’s convenient.

Does the job
Great apartment, however it is right next to Amazon’s HQ2 construction and all the inconveniences that come with it: loud noises, difficult to get around when streets are closed, very dusty when windows are open, etc.

Solid Apartment, Great Location
Gorgeous and spacious apartment with huge windows and great light. Walking distance to Whole Foods and everything else in Crystal City and Pentagon City, plus two Metro stops. Major cons are the expensive prices and the noisy Amazon construction directly across the street, which is quite loud and constant. Also, the pool was not open for the entire Summer 2020 season "due to Covid" but hopefully it re-opens this spring and summer.

I love where I live!
Great place to live in. I am 6 minutes from the metro station by foot and a 20 minute driver to George Washington University, 30 minutes to the VA hospital. The area is very nice and safe to live in. The building I live in has 2 neighboring building for more rent and bedroom availability options. Definitely recommend it.

Solid Experience
We've had a pretty good experience at The Gramercy in Arlington. I am married, and my husband works within a mile of this apartment, so for us my husband having an easy commute was important. Also, we do have a pet and being able to come home during a lunch hour if needed was also a significant driving factor. Although I currently have a long commute during my first semester, on Thursdays my commute to the GWU hospital is quick for my clinical day. Later on in the program, I am told being able to have a more comfortable commute is worth the commute time I am currently spending. I've also been told living closer to DC, will become more convenient as the semesters progress depending on the clinical locations and future job employment locations after school is over.

Perfect Choice
I moved into this apartment my first time living in DC after Law School. I had visited family friends in pentagon city years ago and decided to start my search there. The gramercy was the first building I looked at and I ended my search there, I fell in love. The building is amazing from outside, I was told it was designed by some famous architect. There's a beautiful courtyard in the middle. But the apartments blew me away. Moving from Philly I was so impressed with the quality and how well finished it was. Everything is modern and amazing. There's also a ton of amenities and rooftop pool with amazing views. There's retail and my bank at the bottom and right across the street from costco for bulk shopping. I just renewed my lease and have no regrets.

Exactly what I was looking for
I have been living at the Gramercy since I graduated law school 2 years ago. After many failed roommate situation, I was finally ready to treat myself. And it has been worth every dime. I looked at most of the apartments in Pentagon city and settled on this one because it was my favorite. Modern spacious apartments and I amazing kitchen. The rooftop pool is also a seller as the other apartments I looked at had their pools downstairs. The courtyard, retail downstairs, right next to Costco. I can't say enough great things. If you're looking for a place in Pentagon city. Definitely look here. You won't regret it

Pentagon City Reviews
For the metro, the ride itself is about 20 min. I just budget in extra time for walking and not wanting to arrive just on time. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get to school unless they're doing maintenance. Then, add 10 minutes.
There is not a lot of green space, unless you count Long Bridge "Park", which is a dead-end, cement "bridge" that looks over soccer and baseball fields with some views of D.C.
Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings
Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that.
-I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
