Chesapeake commons

Reasonably good amenities for the price, pet friendly, nice space with gated parking lot. Lots of young professional type neighbors.

Definitely worth living (good price, space, and location to hospitals) - some drawbacks though

Overall, for residency, I really enjoyed living here. It was a very short drive to the downtown UMMC as well as Mercy and a short walk to Midtown. There is a dog park across the street and many restaurants nearby! I also LOVED how spacious the apartments are for the price you are paying - it really is amazing (my apartment is about 800sq ft for about $1375/mo). The parking is gated which is great. During my first 2 years, the management was wonderful and incredibly responsive. They also had someone in the front desk 24/7 to help with deliveries and guests. Unfortunately, the management changed and the overall experience is now not as great. There isn't always someone in the front desks so delivery services usually have a very hard time getting into the front gate now. Thankfully, if anything breaks or needs repair, the online portal is easy to navigate and they get things fixed rather quickly. The internet and water is free which is a nice perk as well. The appliances are also pretty new and modern appearing. One thing that I do wish it had was more amenities. The gym is decent/enough but rather small and there is no pool. They use to have events but no longer have any. All the other residents are pretty kind and quiet. I've never really had many noise issues. Overall pretty good experiences with some draw backs. Definitely worth living here due to the price, space, and location to hospitals.

Chesapeake Commons

We love our unique loft apartment in Chesapeake Commons. Super high ceilings with skylights for lots of sunlight and updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The building is also very secure and the people that work the front desk are friendly and helpful. Parking lot is secure, courtyard with grills is nice, and minimal but useful gym equipment is downstairs. Very pet-friendly building.

Chesapeake Commons

The management/maintenance at Chesapeake Commons is wonderful. Parking is cheaper than average for the area; other community amenities: gym, courtyard with grills, pet-friendly. Apartments have cool architecture, high ceilings (many apartments are lofts), updated kitchens. Definitely recommend living here.

Mount Vernon has restaurants, bars, shops, and multiple grassy areas near the monument. It's a great place to walk around. It's a very communal space. Nearby schools are UB, UMD, MICA, and JHU Peabody. Bus transit near the monument. The Walters Art Museum is very close by. UB is about a 15 minute walk and 5 minute drive from 611 Park.
Area is nearby Mount Vernon, which is very charming. Good restaurants, nice walking area. If you are into night life, however, this apartment may not be for you. The area nearby the building is very quiet at night.
Great place to visit museums, restaurants, and historical monuments. Not too far from the law school, and the UMB Shuttle can get you to school in about 10 minutes
There isn’t too much near by in comparison to other locations in Baltimore, but it is in the middle of the city so it is easy to get places. There isn’t a grocery store nearby, which is probably the biggest con.
UMd Police presence is fairly high, so the area feels reasonably safe. Fairly well lit, and fairly heavily traveled given its location with UB and UMd.
Have only been offered crack once in two years.
This area of Baltimore is not necessarily super busy. The nightlife and restaurant scene is abysmal in this spot, but there are several, easy ways to get into Federal Hill or Fell's Point.

Additionally, this area is not known to be a super safe area of Baltimore, but since we are located so close to the school, there is constant security around. I have never felt unsafe walking to and from school and my apartment.
On the very south edge of Mt Vernon. Pretty quiet, some good restaurants/a few bars around. Easy to casually go out, or travel a bit for more aggressive nightlife. Less safe area about 1 block south, but very safe north.
Good bar/restaurant scene, right next to the train/bus station. Some crime but can't help that.
