Poor security_Terrible management

This place is a wreck. Bad security--- 3 men posing as maintenance asked to come into my apartment in the middle of the night and no one at Management will even call me back about it or check their security cameras. Cars are getting stolen from the garage. AVOID this place. They take down bad reviews so do not trust them. The gym went 3 months without working air conditioning in summer. The fire alarms go off in the middle of the night over and over.

Great amenities, wish it was closer to the metro

The value of what you get at the Madison is great - it's very clean, higher end finishes etc., but you sacrifice in location (not bad, a one mile walk from the metro, but not exactly centrally located). The amenities are great, management is *mostly* good and easy to work with.

Modern, open, clean - good value

I greatly enjoy living at the Madison thus far. When apartment hunting, it had the best value and I loved the hardwood floors, open concept and big windows/high ceilings. For the area, you get a nice space and definitely MORE space than a little closer to DC.

Great place if metro isn't your top priority

Great building with a good, stable management team. Leasing office and concierge there almost round the clock and always helpful. Amenities are average - good gym, clubroom, pool. Parking $50 for one car or $75/ea. for two. Spacious apartments are great - but the walk in closets are to-die-for. Beautiful kitchens. Newer front-loading washer dryers are nice. Truly a luxury feel without the cost! However, that's because you're not too close to the metro - far enough that you probably wouldn't want to walk it every day, but not impossible. Super close to route 50. Also close to Lubber Run park which is nice.

Roaches

We've lived in the apartment for 2 years. The first year was great. Management was responsive to repair requests. The folks at the front desk were nice. Good people living there.

Beginning in January, though, we noticed roaches in our apartment. We asked management to call an exterminator, which they did. Unfortunately, we saw no improvement (and this was after ensuring we did all dishes each night and kept the counters free of food). We've since had the exterminator come 4 times and have had to clear the kitchen completely twice. Management does not seem particularly engaged in helping with the problem. It's only after multiple calls each time that they finally schedule an appointment, which ends up having no effect. Now, my wife and I anticipate killing 10-15 roaches upon entering each evening and then again before we go to bed. Can't wait to move out.

Not the finest Arlington has to offer

In short: I wouldn't recommend living here. Maintenance is slow, staff is snippy and unresponsive (took multiple days to pick up a package), the first floor in Building 2 keeps flooding...

The pricing is okay I guess. It took months to get some maintenance done after we moved in. Our dryer and dishwasher still don't close correctly but I've come to accept that at this point.

The gym is fine, it costs money to have more than 3 guests in the club room, they're adding a new coffee machine which is nice.

Madison at Ballston Station

Madison at Ballston Station has been great for my roommate and I so far. It is a newer building so everything is very new, clean, and nice. It is close to the metro, but the downside is it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Ballston stop. There is a bikeshare at the apartment complex however, so if you are making constant trips to the metro, buying the yearly bike membership is worth it.
There is a pool and gym onsite free to use for tenants. There is ample street parking for tenants, however there is also garage parking for $50 a month.
Living in Ballston is great. It is very close to the Ballston mall and a bunch of shops, restaurants, and bars. The Clarendon area is 2 metro stops away and has great nightlife.
It can be anywhere from a 20 minute to 40 minute drive to Towers Crescent depending on the time I leave for work and the weather that day.

Getting around Arlington

Living in Rosslyn is very convenient. It’s very close to the metro and it’s only one stop away from Foggy Bottom. I can also easily walk into Georgetown DC by simply crossing the bridge. I feel very safe here too and it’s close to grocery stores.
I love living in Rosslyn. I've always felt safe here and there are a ton of areas to walk my dog. It is a bit farther away from where people typically go out (mainly DuPont) but it's very convenient to get to and from school.
While there's not as much to do in Rosslyn as there is in DC, it's quiet, safe, and super convenient. We have tons of transportation options (we don't own a car) and can walk to Georgetown easily.
This apartment complex is very safe! Virginia Square Towers is located in the Virginia Square neighborhood, which is right in between Ballston and Clarendon. Typically more social events happen in Clarendon, and Ballston has more chain restaurants and the mall. Being in the middle of these two towns is amazing because they're both within walking distance, and it allows me to have a quiet neighborhood to go to that is away from the chaos of both of those towns.
I enjoy my neighbors and the common crowd around this area is young professionals it seems. We are close to george mason university and marymount college, so there is sometimes a younger crowd in the area as well. We do have some houses around the area that I have seen mainly have newly established families (i.e. little kids or new to the area) and I feel safe walking around my area at night.
Safe and friendly neighborhood. On a busy street, so the neighborhood is mostly behind the complex. Even then, the suburb behind the complex is small before you hit another highway. Very easily accessible by car, not very much by metro. Also, that accessibility comes with the cost that things do not feel very walkable in most directions. Living here almost necessitates having a car.
Pentagon City is a great experience that is only about to get better with the new Amazon building and the influx of youth it will bring. It is a ways from DC which makes getting with friends difficult because they don't want to come to Arlington, and getting to DC requires 30 minute notice and planning.
The neighborhood is very walkable and has very accessible public transportation. It's not somewhere you typically would go out at night since nightlife is nonexistent, but Amazon just moved in and there is semblance of that changing. It's great if you are active (many gyms, parks, and Mt. Vernon Trail Access), enjoy restaurants like Chick Fil A (one right outside my building), and want to be close to everything.
