My apartment is in a great location if you are wanting to be closer to downtown Chicago; it is about a 15 minute walk to Michigan Ave, and the Red Line is just down the street. I love that utilities are included in rent. The size studio we have is great for just the two of us. There are plenty of restaurants and places to explore right around the apartment.
The only problems I do have is that the windows get stuck and you have to jimmy them to open or close due to the thick amount of paint that was painted on. You can hear the upstairs neighbors but it's not really that bad. The kitchen is a little small- it only consists of an oven/stove top, sink, and refrigerator.
Other than that the place is great for starting off here in Chicago.

It is the cheapest property in the entire area. Nowhere else near old town or the gold coast will you find a property for this price. It is pretty bare bones though. The floor plans are tiny and the flooring and paint are very outdated. They do have some odd tenants as well that seem to just hang around the entrance all day everyday.

Building is ok. Older building, has some wear and tear, not a big fan of management company and the front desk security is not great. They spend more time gossiping than doing anything else I think. If it weren't for the location I would not have chosen this place. Not going to renew my lease. No amenities.

Definitely the cheapest rent in the area. Really great location for extremely cheap rent. The redline is literally a block away which makes it even better. There are quite a few grocery stores in the area as well as a lot of nice restaurants and bars nearby. My wife and I love Blue Agave which is a Mexican Restaurant very close.

I like my place. It is no-frills, but management is responsive to my repair needs and the place is a pre-War old-school apartment in a great part of town (Near North/Gold Coast). It is within walking distance of the Mag Mile and Oak Street. Everyone there is in their 20s and 30s and there is a doorman.

For a studio apartment this is very standard. I appreciate that all the utilities are included in my rent so I know exactly how much I'm paying each month. The door man is always cheerful and welcoming. I also appreciate that the apartment allows cats, this was a big deal for me and my pet. It's a standard building and is old, but it also has some character. It used to be a hold hotel so it's got some history and that's cool.

There is no better off-campus location for a Moody student than the apartments at 1100 N LaSalle. It is about a 5-8 minute walk from Sweeting and the Commons. The building has some old character, but all amenities function properly. If we've ever had a problem the maintenance crew has promptly responded and taken care of it. Free Internet is available in the lobby, which is sufficient for a student's needs. There is a doorman occupying the lobby at all hours. There are studio (300 sq. ft.), deluxe studio, and one bedroom apartments available. If you don't mind living in a small space, the rent is the lowest you will find in close proximity to Moody.
