Munger Graduate Residences reviews and highlights
- best in-house amenities
- most bedrooms don't have windows
- brand new building with fully upgraded appliances
- everyone gets their own bathroom
- spacious living area
- best place to live in terms of value
- centrally located
Modern with great amenities - no windows biggest problem
Munger is a great place to live in terms of location, value for money, and amenities. It's also a good way to meet people from other graduate programs at the University. A very high likelihood of not having a window is the main downside of the apartment complex, as is the spotty cell phone reception. If you can handle that, you're not going to find a much better deal.

Munger Graduate Residences - Great if you want to meet people outside the business school
Living in Munger has been a nice experience. It is very close to Ross so it is easy to walk back and forth between classes if needed. The building itself is brand new and most of the amenities of modern high rise buildings (I most recently lived in downtown Chicago) less a pool. It is also a really great opportunity to meet students outside the building since there is a strong emphasis on trans-disciplinary activities.
That said, there are some drawbacks. The vast majority of the bedrooms do not have windows. Also, the management of the building is done predominantly by students. These students can be a bit "Cult like" at times. For instance, there are TV's on every floor outside the elevators that show the hierarchal structure of the leadership and the fellows are referred to as "The Visionaries". This isn't a big deal, but it is a trait that runs deep in the culture of the building and can feel strange at times.
All in all though, it is a great building and place to live.

Great Place to Live
Munger Graduate residences is a great place to live.
Pros: Incredible basic and high-end amenities for a low, flat rate; central location
Cons: Some bedrooms do not have windows (hard to know what time of day it is); 5 to 6 roommates

No window in room, great building and common space
Brand new grad student dorm with great amenities like a rooftop track, entire floor of study and living space, sound proof music rooms, movie theatre. Only downside is your bedroom has no window, which is great to sleep in late. My living room has an 80 inch and 50 inch tv so I spend my time there instead.

One of the best places to live in, only con: no window in room
Munger has been an amazing place to live in. It is extremely convenient: fully furnished (with 2 of the biggest TVs I have ever seen in my life, in every unit), 7 min walk from Ross, best in-house amenities (gym, study lounges, game room, mini-cinema hall, mini supermarket...). Secondly, it is a very social place with a ton of events: competitions, mixers, yoga/dance classes among many others. The only drawback is that most rooms don't have windows. This is a big bummer but I ended up going back to the room only for sleeping so it didn't bother me as much.

Luxurious Apartment
It is good, but it has no windows. If you live with that fact, it is so worth it. Look it up on the Munger graduate housing website.

Best value, great location
Munger is by far the best place to live in terms of value. The apartments are beautiful and spacious and for only ~900 dollars a month you get utilities, cable, and internet included. Munger offers two study lounges with ample amounts of private rooms as well.
While you live with other graduate students, some of which could potentially be Ross students, you rarely build a strong relationship with all of your housemates. Also, most Ross students live in houses south of campus and tend to forge better relationships with their housemates and neighboring classmates. This isn't to say that you are at a disadvantage socially, but it is worth considering.
Also, there are no windows in the bedrooms which can be a problem for some people... and the gym is more like a hotel fitness center

Cons: Have to walk a few blocks to get to real restaurants (like 2-3 blocks).
Its centrally located to bars, restaurants, classes, and everything else you need.
