Good location.

Good location close to center city attractions. Onsite gym and basketball court. Staff is helpful and building secure. Downside is lack of parking

I just did not feel safe

This building is very old and not renovated at all. We made the mistake of believing what was said online and when we arrived it was a horror story. They promised hardwood flooring, renovated kitchen and bathroom and lots of light. We arrived to a completely carpeted studio with a somewhat renovated bathroom and a 2000's kitchen. Management was nice but not very understanding and problem solving. The area just didn't work for us, it is really near Love Park and in the day it is very nice but at night when you want to go to the Rittenhouse area you find a lot of little gangs just staring at you.

Excellent Building

The Metropolitan is a beautiful building. The units have all been renovated with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The wood flooring looks really nice and doesn't feel cheap. The building also comes with some common amenities (e.g. Community room, conference center, and a gym). The only real downside is that there aren't any nearby grocery stores.

Pleased with the Metropolitan

I've lived here for a little over a year and I have very few complaints. Pros: The rent is quite reasonable, the location is amazing, the staff and maintenance are cordial and attentive, and the walls are thick so there is very little noise. Cons: Although I love the location, the neighborhood can feel a little unsafe late at night. In addition, there is construction across the street that can get annoying. I've talked to some neighbors and it sounds like it's not a huge issue for the higher up floors.

Love the location

Renovations have given the Metropolitan a very modern look on the inside while preserving its historic character on the outside. The staff is extremely friendly and I love the neighborhood. Everything is in walking distance and the views are really nice. The Metropolitan also has a loading dock, which really comes in handy when you are trying to move-in in Center City. Also, I've made good use of the gym over the last year -- it has the standard apartment equipment and usually isn't too busy so I rarely have to wait for a treadmill or an elliptical.

Great management and staff!

Although the Metropolitan is on the pricier end, you certainly get what you pay for. The views from my unit are great and the apartment itself is in great condition. The staff at the Metropolitan are top notch. They are always on top of everything and I've been incredibly impressed. I've the occassional maintenance issue here and there, but management has been incredibly responsive and taken care of it right away. Overall, I think it's one of the best places to live in Philly!

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
