Pros and Cons

+ close to campus. For MBAs, this is as close to Sage Hall as you can get. 10-15 min walk
+ a lot of graduate students live in this area so it is very easy to social.
+ they have a partnership with spectrum so you get tv service (including showtime) for free but there is a $5 monthly charge for internet if you have to rent the modem
+ maintenance is very responsive

-interiors are not as cute as other apartments in the area.
- more expensive than you would think.
-parking is an extra charge.
-they say there is a gym but it is just one treadmill and like 4 stationary bikes... so hopefully you like cardio
- they say apartments are renovated but a good amount of them are NOT. thus a lot of the apartments look like they are straight out of the 90s.

Decent spot for grad living and walking to class

It's a good location to be in for walking to Sage or Breazzano for classes. The apartment is spacious and has a good amount of storage for a 1 bed/1 bath. I also like that they are pet friendly and a relatively quiet building. The only downsides are that it is an older building and does not have a full gym.

Decent place to live

Overall nice place to live. The building is a little old but the maintenance and leasing office are nice. The main issue is that my rent increased by about $200 for my unit so I think it’s expensive

Nice Apartment, Eh Building

The apartment itself is perfect. Large windows, large closets, little noise from neighbors, and a clean (if a little apartment-core) setup. The building, however, is a bit worn. The elevator’s sketchy. The laundry room is a little dingy. The hallway’s giving dorm that hasn’t been renovated (or scrubbed) since ‘98. But I like the management and the location’s good so no real complaints.

Needs renovating but it is convineant

My townhouse and many others are in MUCH need of renovation - it feels like you stepped into the late 80s/90s. Townhouses have great sunlight because windows are large and doors are most glass BUT this also leads to a sense of lack of privacy. Also some 2 bedroom townhouses have 2 air conditioners but mine (also a 2 bedroom) only has 1 - so during the summer, I asked the office if another can be installed and they said no and that I could get a fan... so not great customer service. However, if you are a grad student and will only be at Cornell for 1-2 years, this apartment complex is close to campus and close to the Maplewood (which is nicer and more fun) so Fairview is not that bad

Outdated apartment with no normal appliances

The rent is similar to Maplewood, but everything is outdated from the 1980s. Apartments don't have washer/dryer or ever a dishwasher. Provided furniture is basically useless. You will have go and buy a lot more furniture yourself. I recommend going to Maplewood if there is availability. If not, check out Herald Square in downtown. It's basically the same price for a high end apartment.
