Can't beat the convenience

Cannot beat the convenience factor of Emory Point. It's walking distance to school (about a mile), and so many great stores within the complex (nail salon, hair salon, clothing boutiques, CVS, restaurants/bars, food shopping, gym, barre and orange theory). I can literally go weeks without driving my car! The amenities and apartments are both very nice.

My only complaint would be noise. There are A LOT of undergrads that live here and often times you hear them sprinting down the hallways at 1 in the morning. Also, the windows are not well insulated. I live on the Clifton Rd side and there is a firehouse across the street, so I hear fire engines leaving the station on a daily basis. Due to the poor insulation, even the sound of trucks and buses on Clifton Rd can be loud when you're trying to fall asleep at night.

Great option near campus

Emory Point is a great choice for living alone, close to campus. I can walk to class every day, and feel very safe and comfortable in my apartment. The leasing office and maintenance staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive. The pool and gym are beautiful and rarely crowded. It is definitely not the most economic choice available, but for someone new to the city and looking for the easiest possible transition to school, it was worth every cent. The only minor annoyance is that there are undergrads living in the building and they can be a bit loud, but I haven't had any serious issues with that. Tip: try to sign a lease early in the summer or even spring to great rent discounts/deals!

Poorly Constructed

Nice materials put together crappily! My apartment was still dirty when I moved in (stick carpet and floors and food smeared in cabinets). I can feel lose screws under the carpet and cabinet pulls aren't level. Loud dogs barking and echoes from the hallway are amplified.

Great Apartment

I just moved in and couldn't be happier with this apartment complex. It's close to CVS, Earthfare, and tons of restaurants. The gym and pool are also great and the staff have been very helpful. As a girl, it is also nice to have a spa nearby to get nails and eyebrows done as well.

Getting around Druid Hills

Druid Hills Reviews

Druid Hills is the home neighborhood of Emory, the CDC, and lots of other areas. It is also close to Midtown, downtown Decatur, Inman Park, etc. so a good time is never far away. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores. The university provides lots of activities. Plenty of parks and walking trails if you know where to look.
Druid hills is historic and full of parks and sidewalks. Super safe and exercise and pet friendly. Best part about where I live is the location
love the neighborhood. amazing parks, families, houses, lovely place to be and walk
Beautiful hilly neighborhood with lots of forested parks and quiet streets for runs and walks. You are a 10-15 min walk to the restaurants at Morningside and to Emory village in the opposite direction. It's not close to the beltline, Piedmont, or many of the restaurants/bars you'll find closer to Midtown, but it's quiet and good for students at Emory.
The Druid hills neighborhood is residential and you'll need a car or rideshare to get to most retail areas. It can be quite if you have good neighbors and is typically a safe neighborhood. Gables Rock Springs has experienced some break-ins over the past 6 months while I've been living there, but I don't know the circumstances and haven't experienced it myself.
Lots of great restaurants, driving is decent around here (for Atlanta anyway). I have 2 Publixes, a Target, and a Walmart within 10 minutes of me. I would highly recommend.
Emory Point is basically on campus so the atmosphere is very similar to other areas of Emory, with more shops and restaurants thrown in.
There are a lot of families who live in this complex. Numerous pet owners too, and a wonderfull green area for everyone to play and have fun in. We are right across the street from the Clairmont Campus.
