A Good Start
Gables has been awesome - it's bike-able the school, maintenance is fast and efficient, and (started out) very affordable. We got a totally renovated apartment with hardwood floors and granite countertops for $2200 between three people. The pool is lovely and the gym is good enough. The only downsides are the annual price hike (10%) and security (there've been mail and car break-ins). With regards to security, we've felt personally very safe and the complex is well-lit and in a great neighborhood. While less popular than Post Briarcliff (despite being closer and cheaper...?) it's been a great place to start out!

Convenient.
Close to Emory and relatively convenient. Access to a pool and decent gym is nice. Kind of in the middle of suburbia, not much around. The closest Emory shuttle is the Briarcliff campus shuttle, which is about a 5-10 minute walk depending on where in Gables you live. Having a car is most convenient. Traffic can be bad between 4 and 6ish. Overall a perfectly fine place to live, on par with Highland Square and Post Briarcliff without the convenience of a grocery store within walking distance.

I love my apartment- we found it during Housing Weekend with my 3 other roommates and we knew we wanted to live here. It's been great!

Great student housing
Gables Rock Springs is just a 1 mile walk to school and is a great location in terms of restaurants and bars given it’s proximity to Morningside and Virginia Highlands. The amenities include gym and pool, and the staff is relatively quick to respond to requests. My favorite part is the nice neighborhood surrounding the apartments. It’s perfect for walks and bike rides. There is even a nature park with trails nearby.

Good balance
The apartments are large enough for my wife and our one and a half year old. We live in a part of the complex that allows us to park in a semi secure parking garage. There have been break-ins of both property and cars in the area, but we have not been affected. The management is usually very attentive, and maintenance issues are almost always handled same day or within a day. It's also a great location - in between the Highlands and Emory, and a short drive to other solid neighborhoods like Midtown, Old 4th Ward, etc. Our apartment was recently renovated when we moved in, and we've been generally pleased with our decision to stay here.

Quiet apartment tucked behind nice neighborhood
In the newer phase of Gables Rock Springs, I feel safely secluded behind a really nice neighborhood of townhouses and houses. Nicely wooded area behind. The neighborhood is great for walking, especially for dogs. 2 miles from the business school. Easy drive to Virginia Highlands, Midtown, Ponce, etc. Need a car for commute to class. New appliances and Washer/dryer included. Parking open or gated garage. Not a bargain, but rent competitive with the area and amenities provided.
