I have found the apartments at Lofts to be quite spacious and accommodating. I have experienced a handful of minor maintenance issues (damage from a storm, a/c issues, etc) and the management has addressed each issue immediately and in each case communicated the steps that had been taken to remedy the issue and followed up afterward to ensure that I was pleased with the measures taken.

It is one of the more fancier buildings in Durham, but the location is extremely convenient if you are a Duke student. Having indoor parking is also a plus since the car is protected in all kinds of weather. The only downside is these are lofts and therefore there are no doors for the bedrooms which could be an issue for privacy.

Close to Duke Hospital (within 10-15 minute walk) as well as eateries on Erwin Rd. Efficient layout with good use of available space and lots of natural light. Amenities are nice (gym, pool, etc.), well maintained, and convenient. Comes with gated garage parking and free guest parking (although you need to obtain a permit from the office if you would like to use a guest spot during business hours). A little bit expensive compared to some of the other options in Durham, however, for me the location is worth it.

Walking distance from school and the hospital (great during second year when I could be at work in 10 minutes if need-be). The apartments are slightly bigger for a slightly lower cost than the Trinity apartments. Relatively safe apartment complex, although the ground-floor apartments that face the road have had a couple break-ins in the 3 years I've lived there. Good to have a gym in the building, especially during second year, and the pool is beautiful! Nice place to study in the warmer months. I have also found the staff very responsive with my requests. My only complaint was that bugs have come in during the summer months, but my apartment was sprayed promptly upon request and this is no longer an issue.
