Great place to live

I’ve lived here with my fiancé for 2 years, and she lived here for 2 years with a roommate before that. It’s super easy to get to the law school (7 min trolley ride or 20 min walk) and living in Center City is great for having a life outside of school. In terms of amenities, there’s a doorman, a pretty big gym, and laundry on every floor. The corner, 2 bedroom units are huge. Appliances could be updated but they’re still very functional. Management has always responded to our requests promptly.

Perfect Location

My apartment building is perfect for me when it comes to law school. It is only a 15-20 minute walk, perfect to listen to a podcast or clear my mind. In the event of bad weather, I can take the trolley to the law school. It stops right in front of my building and drops me off on the same block as Penn Law. The one-bedroom is spacious, although a little pricey. However, I have a gym on the top floor and living alone was important to me. I did not want roommates, for at least my first year, so I could focus on my studies. Also, I wanted my bedroom to be separate from my work/living space. Further, I wanted enough space to have a desk, because I do my best work at home with access to the gym, food, coffee, etc. to break up the long hours of studying. You will have to pay for utilities (water, electricity, and internet), but all together, no more than an extra $100/month. The security attendant is 24 hours/day, which is amazing and also important to me.

Great location, spacious units, classic style

2121 is close to the Penn campus (relative to other housing options in Rittenhouse) - about a 25 minute walk. It's also right next to the trolley entrance for rainy or cold days, or when I'm running late. The trollies run every few minutes on weekdays, so it's quite convenient. I'm also right above Trader Joe's, which has helped me cook more and eat healthier.

The apartment building is a renovated warehouse, so there's lots of brick, super high ceilings, spacious units, and great big windows for lots of natural light. The overall complex is well-maintained, relatively clean, and generally pleasant. It's not super posh, and we don't have fancy amenities like some other swanky apartments have. Though we do have a rooftop gym and lounge area, including an outdoor area with nice views of the city.

Overall, my experience here has been simple, problem-free, and convenient. My unit is very comfortable, and my rent is a pretty good value. Ultimately a nice option for other Wharton students.

Spacious, High Ceilings, industrial vibe

Love my apartment! 20 foot ceilings and spacious. It's more has more of an industrial than luxury vibe but it's a great find. It's a closer walk to campus, located above trader Joe's, and is central to everything...!

2121 Market

This apartment is very well located right next to a trolley station that can drop you in front of HUP and the VA or take you up to Fishtown or anywhere in between. There are also great restaurants and museums nearby. There are large windows with lots of light, and pets are allowed. I like the layout of the kitchen, but the appliances are nothing special - there is an electric stove, and my refrigerator and microwave have both had problems in the past. That said, management is reasonably responsive to maintenance requests. The building has a gym, and there is laundry on each floor. I live on Market St, so there is some noise from the street and trolley station.

Many benefits

Location: above the Trader Joe's and a trolley stop two stops from campus; equidistant from campus and city hall; 7/11, Dunkin Donuts, Wawa, and CVS all within one block
Amenities: 24-hr concierge accepts packages (Ehric is the greatest man alive!); one-time $250 pet fee; decent gym (free weights up to 50 lb, bikes, ergs, treadmills, ellipticals, and weighted machines) with indoor lounge and outdoor deck on the roof; laundry on each floor (uses a refillable "credit card" so no quarters); huge windows and high ceilings

Worth the Price - location location location

Location is AMAZING - right above Trader Joe's, in the middle of school and Center City. Also there is a trolley on the corner (10 ft from the entrance) where you can get to school in 3 stops (10 mins max).

Not the cheapest, but good quality and in my opinion, worth the price.

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
