Berkshire Ninth Street reviews and highlights
- on the pricier side
- new complex with great furnishings
- nice gym and clubhouse
- convenient location close to groceries, restaurants, and coffee shops
Great location & reasonably priced
I really enjoy living in B9 (as we call it). The location is optimal and many MBA students live in the building, so there's always something to do. The convenience of being across the street from Harris Teeter and 9th street cannot be understated! Short drive (~7 min) to Fuqua and Big Duke.

Great amenities and very spacious
B9 amenities and staff are great and responsive. It’s very comfortable and close to grocery stores and restaurants. Gym is great. The only I’d say is that the floors are thin and you can easily hear your upstairs neighbor if they don’t have carpets.

A little pricey for the offering
Per person rent at the apt is very high - the community does not offer many more amenities than other communities nearby, which have cheaper options.

love Berk 9
Love the gym, pool, and amenities. Maintenance is super responsive every time there's an issue. Ninth street has great restaurants/bars/coffee shops and Harris Teeter and Whole Foods are walking distance, which is huge. My roommate and I take the bus every day to TSCHE and it's really convenient — takes less time than parking in PG3 and walking from there to TSCHE. Only downsides have been that the apartment wasn't super clean when we moved in (drains had some gunk, cobwebs, needing to vacuum) and we have had some cockroaches. It's also a bit more expensive than other options, but for the amenities and getting to know Durham we felt like it was worth it.
