MAJOR SECURITY ISSUE - BAG STOLEN IN APARTMENT!!!

I am absolutely appalled by the lack of security at this so-called "luxury, high-end" apartment! Last Friday, I left my bag on the couch in the clubroom after the party ended at about 2 AM. The bag contains all my personal belongings: car key, apartment key, wallet, ID and iPad.

When my friends, the residents of 2626, tried to open the clubroom, the fob didn't work. We tried to contact the emergency services, but no one bothered to show up! Is this the level of security and responsiveness we should expect from a supposedly upscale residence?

The next morning, at 8:40 AM, my friend went to the clubroom only to find NO BAG inside, just a vacuum cleaner. It appears that the cleaning lady had entered the room before my friend, but shockingly, she denies seeing any bag. The evidence from the fob access indicates that only my friend and the cleaning lady entered the clubroom that morning. Coincidence? I think not!

What's even more absurd is that there are NO SECURITY CAMERAS inside this so-called luxury apartment complex! Are we living in the dark ages? Without any evidence, it's impossible to identify the thief or hold anyone accountable. Moreover, the cleaning manager nonchalantly admitted to having a master key to all the rooms. Residents of 2626, lock your doors with utmost care!

I am utterly disgusted by the lack of security measures in place, and I implore anyone considering this apartment complex to think twice before putting their safety and belongings at risk. This experience has been a total nightmare, and I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed and angry I am with the complete disregard for the security of the residents. Shame on you!

2626 Southside Flats

Great location in the Southside Works and the building is very secure. There is a very nice courtyard area with an indoor pool and hot tub. Maintenance staff is very friendly and responsive. Overall a great experience living here.

About South Side

Across the Monongahela River is Pittsburgh's beautiful South Side, which boasts tons of hip bars and dining options. East Carson is said to be Pittsburgh's version of Bourbon Street if that gives you any indication of the vibe in this neighborhood. However, the area is divided into two parts - South...

Parking can be impossible on weekend evenings but it is worth it for the ease of access to Southside bars and restaurants. There can be a bit of noise every now and again, but it is really not a nuisance overall. Parking will likely be your biggest complaint, but you'd find that in pretty much every neighborhood in Pittsburgh.
Close by to gym, grocery store, transit, and bars/restaurants.
I don't think its a very safe area, and the efforts to make it more safe seem to not be working. But, it is affordable and close to the school which is why I plan on staying there. If rent wasn't insanely high I would move to somewhere more safe/secure but its just not in my budget right now.
It’s E Carson street, so it’s expected to have traffic sounds and hooting and cheering on the weekends. Thankfully our bedroom faces away from E Carson and into a parking lot of our apartment building - it’s surprisingly quiet. The walls are also super think here- I’ve never heard my neighbors. While south side can get roudy, you have walking distance to coffee shops, groceries, thrift stores, and bars, if that’s your jam. It’s pretty nice!
I personally love Southside. It's close to Duquesne without the prices of downtown. There are grocery stores and restaurants very close by and its easy to get to campus by walking or on the shuttle. The Southside trail is also great for working out. Southside can get a bad rap but I've never felt unsafe and I love the community.
Hard to get to Oakland via public transport. I live near south side works which is very safe, however a couple of streets up East Carson there is some crime so be aware.
