Place to Live, Not Play
Sherman Plaza will probably never be the place you go for a large party, and that's great. It's close to everywhere you need to go: right in the center of town and practically on top of the bus and rail stops - perfect for JVs. The building has a nice mix of Kellogg students and others so it doesn't have the dorm feel of other residences. It's quiet and the staff are lovely. It lacks some of the amenities of an E2, but you can get to LA Fitness without going outside. That gym is never full, has multiple rooms and a pool, and has a special deal (~$20/month) for Kellogg students and significant others.

Love Sherman Plaza
Nicest condo building in Evanston. Sherman Plaza has 24/7 Security and provides access to LA Fitness from inside the building (without going outside). The staff and service are great and our landlord is a pleasure to work with!

Quiet, spacious, easy access to campus and downtown
The best thing about this loft-style 2BR/2BA is its location - right next to the Davis St. Metra and Purple Line stations, which has allowed me to walk to campus and my husband to take the train to work. With bars, restaurants, a movie theater, and shops all within walking distance, we really only use our car for grocery shopping. The condo is very pretty - hardwood floors, granite counter-tops, floor-to-ceiling windows, and industrial exposed duct work and concrete ceilings. Because it's a loft, one of the bedrooms is not fully enclosed (and doesn't have a window), which might make it tough to share this place with a roommate. We've actually chosen to sleep in the 2nd bedroom rather than the master because it's away from the street and therefore quiet and pitch-dark (best sleep of my life). We have used the sunny master as our office and guest room. The front-desk staff are so friendly and have really added to our quality of life. They learned our names right away, sign for packages, give our spare key to the cat sitter when we're out of town, and also make the building feel more secure. Other amenities include a community room (on our floor - great for group study sessions), a bike room with direct elevator access, and an internal (snowless! not-freezing!) entrance to the LA Fitness (membership costs extra, but we agreed to pay in advance for 2 years, so it came out to about $20-$25/person/month). One less-than-ideal element is that our parking spot is on the 9th floor of the garage while our apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building, so it's a little cumbersome to get the car out. The rent is steep (and my landlord isn't easy to negotiate with, thus the management score), but the unit has been perfect. Highly recommended.

Great location!
Sherman plaza is located at the center of downtown Evanston. It is quite convenient to reach any restaurants, bars, and other amenities including gym (LA fitness) in Evanston. It takes just approx. 15 mins by walk to Jacobs, also school shuttle bus stop is right at the front of the building.

Cons: Long walk from the Global hub. Closest grocery store is Whole Foods, a bit of a hike to TJ's and Jewel.
