Rosslyn Heights
It's a spacious apartment but pretty pricey and has issues with pests.

Decent location, rip off to tenants and terrible service
I lived in Rosslyn Heights for two years. They treat their tenants with a lack of care and respect. The charge unnecessarily for services that should be a given (i.e., package delivery) and charge as if they're the other apartment complexes with high end amenities. They will nickel and time their tenants over small charges endlessly, from move-in, throughout the year, and during move-out. Not to mention, from my first lease to the renewal they increased the rent by $500. Buyer beware, I'd choose another location in Rosslyn if I were to do it all over again.

Best Apartment I've Had
My partner and I love living at Rosslyn Heights. Our experience with the leasing office has always been positive, the community is clean and quiet, and the property itself is conveniently located between Rosslyn and Court House Metro stations.

Good Location, Just OK Apartment
Way overpriced, packages regularly lost, bad amenity maintenance, etc.

Good for the price!
I would say Rosslyn Heights is an overall good choice. It's relatively inexpensive compared to DC prices and relatively convenient - about a 10 minute walk from the GUTS and just another 10-15 minute drive over the bridge. However, if I did it over again I would live inside the District and likely much closer to the actual campus. Rosslyn is fine, but it's a little suburban and residential. I think there is more within a short walking distance available in DC and it would be nice to have the option to walk to school, weather-permitting. In terms of this building, though, the leasing office is fine - we have two pools and one gym (it's small though and, at times, the machines have gone broken with no fixing for weeks - it can be hard to snag a machine during a busy time).

Avoid
If you love being pushed around by a large corporation, you'll love living with them too!
These guys will smile and shake your hand as you move out and then sue you three weeks later.
The gym, among many other things is outdated and most things that are supposed to work hardly do such as many locks, the common room TVs, intercoms etc.
Ask the managers to do something simple for you, like give you a key and then expect to ask them 3 times before they take a week to do it.
And google the pictures of mice living under the bathtub. Its real.

Quiet and Safe
Great location and excellent management. The area surrounding Rosslyn Heights feels really safe. I can walk outside past midnight alone without feeling unsafe. It's a pretty short walk to the Georgetown Shuttle (GUTS) and the total commute to campus is ~20 minutes. I've generally been pleased with the amenities as well.

Management not helpful/competent
Had to get various things fixed in the apt over the course of my rental lease. Often took more than one phone call to get a response. Took over a month for fix a leaky toilet. Management also lied about not being able to replace the sensor key when it was damaged, and after losing it, then reversed their statement, saying that damaged keys could be replaced free of charge. actually had to call the regional office at one point to get management to comply with the requests to fix damaged items in the apt. i would NOT recommend living here. overpriced and management not helpful.

Management responsive but apartments need upgrades
Management is responsive to any maintenance problems that arise, but I find myself needing to request maintenance too often. I understand I pay less because my apartment is not upgraded, but certain things should be upgraded no matter what. The location is great and I feel safe, but I am looking forward to moving somewhere nicer once my lease is up.

Quiet and safe but a bit far from the city
The landlord is amazing and the location feels safe and suburban. Because I need to be in the city a lot, however, the >1mi. walk to and from the metro each day has become a bit exhausting for me. Nice apartment and neighbors but limited amenities.

Rosslyn Reviews
However, this has been a business district for ages. There is very little going on around here and many of the restaurants don’t even open on the weekends. But, that’s changing. So stay tuned!
(Also, I like living in Virginia because my vote counts for more here!)
If you have long legs, renting a bike is an option. If you are like me and 5'1'', renting a bike is an option for downhill rides.
There is a lot within walking distance in Rosslyn (think 20 min average from my apt): Barnes and Noble, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (also on the Arlington loop shuttle from GU), public libraries, CVS, Target, Safeway, lots of restaurants.
Also close to dense populations of immigrant communities if you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean food.
Cons: Neighborhood shuts down after 5pm. Few restaurants in the neighborhood itself (this is getting better though). Concrete canyon effect because of the skyscrapers. Closest grocery store is an expensive Safeway.
