Riverside is not not dope

There aren't a lot of walkable restaurants and bars (though 1618 Asian Fusion is downright tremendous). BUT it is super easy to get to East Austin and Rainey and being right on the Roy and Ann Butler Trail is a huge plus. Very pet friendly as well.

Good value, ok property

This building is decently maintained but could easily be improved. The gym and office rooms are nice and the building is generally kept clean, but the property ownership is impersonable and nothing is included along with rent. Most importantly, there is likely to be construction onsite beginning summer 2018 which will be disruptive.

Spacious, luxurious apartment

My apartment at South Shore is a great place. High end finishing and luxurious stainless steal kitchen appliances. I really like the kitchen space with a nice back splash. The apartment is also bright and it is quiet despite being very close to the main road. The management staff is very professional and always available for request and services. It is also a highly secured and safe apartments being a gated community. I also like that my visitors can easily find a parking spot.

AMLI Southshore

It is right on the water so great. 5 dollar uber ride to downtown. Many dogs. We moved in because it was better for us to get a two bedroom. When you are paying for a single bedroom it can easily get up to being 1,400 or more a month. We love our neighbors.

Amazing Space

My apartment at AMLI southshore is a great place to live since it is equipped with modern furniture and top notch kitchen appliances especially that I like cooking. Moreover, full size washer and dryer are on unit which makes it very convenient. The location is great with nice views on the river.

Luxurious living at Amli south Shore

I love my apartment at AMLI south Shore. It is a very modern apartment with luxurious finishing and kitchen appliances. It has a lot of storage space and the one bedroom apartment fits two people very well. Full size washer and dryer available in unit and the location is pretty close to several attractions in Austin.

Lack communication

The management and office members lack communication. There have been times where they are quick to report a fine though have entered my apartment without notifying me. If i didn't ask the office about someone entering my home they would have not told me. I only knew because I saw a mark where the apartment complex had hired contractors to start repairs.

Management is terrible

Terrible management- change process and inform residents through a newsletter via email that no one reads. I have very loud neighbors- everything they do echos into my place. Terrible infrastructure....not clean outside of apartment ie breezeways. :(

Gorgeous Complex

This apartment complex is literally on the shore of Lady Bird Lake. It is a gorgeous complex with a huge green space in the back where dogs can play. The pool is a great amenity and I love going onto the roof to look at the beautiful skyline when the weather is nice. Overall A-.

Wonderful Apartments with a Great View

These apartments overlook Lady Bird Lake and are directly accessible to the new Boardwalk. The apartments themselves are nice, but it is truly the location that you are paying for. It's also a great area for pet owners, with a nice grassy area in the back for dogs to play.

Getting around Riverside

Riverside Reviews

20 reviews
There's lots to do, eat, and drink right in the Riverside neighborhood, and getting to downtown or the East side is so easy if you want to do something different. Lots of great local spots to eat (mostly counter-service style), ranging from sports bars to Tex Mex to Vietnamese food. There's plenty of standard chain restaurants as well (again mostly counter service places). Being close to the Town Lake trail is prime. Some areas don't feel very safe at night, but most of the streets are well-lit. Police often patrol the area, which could make you feel safer or more concerned. Overall, a great area to live that is constantly improving!
Riverside drive especially the east part is relatively a new growing neighborhood. Grocery shops like Walgreens, CVS and HEB are nearby. It is also a relatively safe area and calm. It is close to UT campus with a 10 min drive only in normal traffic.

Moreover it is surrounded with the beautiful access to the river and lady bird lake.
Night life is a bit not much available and most of the action is in downtown of Austin which is very close.
Riverside is growing with many restaurants and grocery shops. There are some constructions going on and it is relatively quiet unless it is rush hours.
It is close to downtown and to UT campus.

Relatively less safe than downtown because of homeless people around.
Riverside neighborhood is a growing neighborhood with many restaurant chains and local tex-mex restaurants. Many gaz stations and many grocery stores. 15 min to UT and 10 min to Downtown with a quick access to the river trails.
Pros:
Close to Downtown and UT
Price is cheaper than other areas that are closer to UT
Plenty of grocery shops.
Calm area except on rush hours
Access to river trails.

Cons:
Homeless people.
Safety.
I heard Riverside had a less than perfect reputation before I moved here. I would say that the closer you are to the river the better you should be as it has also become a very desirable location. Riverside, as a neighborhood, is split by Riverside Drive, so try to find a place in the zone closest to the river. Also, prices are usually lower than in other areas closer to campus.
I really like how accessible it is to the other neighborhoods, given its location on the trail, but it is very new and they are putting up a bunch of new apartment buildings and the dining/bar scene hasn't quite filled out yet.
The path by the river is great if you like to cycle or run. I love running down to auditorium shores, using the outdoor gym and then running back. it's a perfect workout.
