Good, low stress option
I have enjoyed living there. It is a bit far from campus (about a 10 min drive) but very close to several restaurants and grocery stores, as well as shopping and a great local bookstore and pottery studio all within walking distance. It is right next to a forest preserve which does mean the occassional woods beetle or spider, but never had an actual pest problem, and the preserve provides a great view and nice walking path. In-unit washer/dryer is a lifesaver. Maintenance is very responsive with fast and quality repairs. Not a ton of windows, but the ones I do have are big.

Good apartment for a single person.
The management at Stratum has been great. There have been a few problems with mold and/or plumbing but the maintenance has taken care of every issue I have had. There are also some loud people, but that just seems to be part of the college living experience. Management does their best to make Stratum a very comfortable place to live. There are also bus stops on both sides of the property, making the transit to campus a breeze. The one bedroom apartments are huge with a giant bathroom. My cat and I have plenty of space for all of my belongings. I wish there was pest control and the breezeways were cleared more often, but that is one of my few complaints. Closets are huge and plenty of storage.

Terrible experience
Management will lie to your face so be sure you have everything in writing or on record.
Tons of maintenance issues from water damage, trash, bugs, and more and expect to wait weeks or a month for things to be addressed.
Landscape is poorly managed and dirty and parking at your place can be packed during week days.
Gym is pathetic, 2 old treadmills that either don't work or belt sticks and causes you to trip.
Units don't retain heat and Heater doesn't work well. Bill will be over $300 a month.
Lastly, they don't have a good package/shipping system. They lose packages all the time and sometimes they are even stolen or left outside.

Management Doesn't Care About You
Had a really hard time moving in. Learned the hard way to make sure you have everything in writing or recorded. Management will lie and tell you things over the phone and bait and switch when you arrive. Tons of maintenance requests sent about heater not working in winter, and electricity/internet issues and they take weeks to get back to you. Gym is a joke. Treadmills don't work and the space is tiny.

Good
Good, easy drive to the school (not walking distance). However includes many amenities and provides a lot to make up the difference. Only pay for electric & rent.

Good location (Next to Kroger, B-Town, College Mall)
I think the location is great but the room I live is so noisy from the noise of upper floors and air-conditioning/heater processors. Better to consider living in the 2nd floor.

Close to bus stop and Kroger!
Stratum Indiana is one of the closest apartments to Kroger on the eastside. Also, it has a great access to No. 9 bus stop.
