The Woods at Latimer

Great place and very quiet. It's a little beat up and pretty expensive. Comes with garage.

The Woods at Latimer have been great for me during my MBA. Away from the hustle and bustle, at the right price point and very flexible. I have an attached garage and the unit is spacious, there's even a back patio. The management company is quick to respond and they're very pet friendly. I would highly reccomend the Woods at Latimer. It's important to consider living downtown vs. elsewhere - you do have to Uber downtown for events etc. Be aware of that. Luckily there's a bus stop right out front that gets you downtown, or on campus, that's an added plus.

Conveniently located by a bus stop and right south of college mall, you are also close to a Kroger- all within walking distance. 15 minute drive to campus and plenty of parking available. Its nothing special, but the location and price really make it a great deal if you can secure a roommate. I don't believe there is any single room housing available.

Overall I love the management and we haven’t had any issues with the apartment. Some neighbors are loud and the gym is unusable. Sometimes there are sketchy people parked in the parking lot

Overall I would reccomend the Woods at Latimer.

Pros:
1) Very fast in house maintenance team
2) Lots of space, nice patios (newly redone fall 2021)
3) Very pet friendly, most people in the units have pets
4) Has attached garage options
5) Has units with wood fire places
6) Nice clean pool that isn't too busy!
7) Honest / not sketchy about deposits, units aren't in the best condition when moving in / so you have lots of liberty here
8) Nice gym in the complex
9) Bus stop right in front !

Cons:
1) Internet that comes with the house is max 60mbps downstream (not super fast)
2) Heat is electric (heat pump outside), so in the winter if it gets too cold you might need to switch to full electric which is super expensive
3) Build in 2000, so nearly 20 years old, some maintenance issues like drips etc. starting
4) Poor water pressure
5) Has hookups for washer dryer, but they charge you extra for a washer an dryer if you get it from them (don't do it, go through a company like Big Jon's for a used set for the two years you are here)
6) Poor landscaping, mowing occurs infrequently
7) Poor insulation, you can hear your neighbors dogs bark etc.
8) Not much sunlight, particularly for units facing the woods, be aware when choosing a unit
9) Farther away from downtown, be ready... the bus system in bloomington doesn't run late, so ubering to the bars will be your best bet

Great area!! Lots of space with each person getting a bathroom to their selves. A little far from campus but there’s a bus stop right outside the apartment and it’s very close to college mall and tons of restaurants
