Good apartment complex
Hidden Valley is a bit on the older side, but it's been a great experience. The management company has been responsive to maintenance requests, and it's generally very quiet here.
In addition, I have not lost power once during my three years here despite friends all over Ann Arbor who have lost power for extended periods of time.
While a little further out in terms of walking to the law school, the 62 Bus has a stop right in front of the apartment complex. An easy 10 minute bus ride to campus that drops you off right in front of the law school.

Average apartment; good price
The apartment is located 2 miles south of campus (directly south of the Ford School). The location is far enough that you are not in the campus bubble as much and that can be good and bad.
The building is average in quality. Management has changed a couple times, so response times for maintenance can vary a lot. It has been much better recently.

Affordable option
The price is reasonble while the only downside is unfurnished. You can take Route 62 to Ross with 5 mins walking to the bus stop.

Very convenient, with good price
Great location for MBA students that want some work-life separation. It's further away than Woodbury, but only 5 minute drive to Ross. I have never had an issue with weekend/night life either as there are always Ubers available.
If you live here, I highly recommend a renovated unit.

HVC is pretty good
My experience has generally been good. I've only lived at HVC for a few months, but have had positive experiences. The walls are very thick (cinderblock) so noise isn't an issue. The only thing that I've had to deal with is how hot my apartment is in the winter - the insulation from the outside is good so it doesn't get cold, but the insulation near the front of the apartment (interior of the building) isnt great, so when they have the entire building heated, that means the apartment can get hot. Honestly, in the winter I'd rather have to manage it being too hot (because I can just open my window/get a window fan) than having to keep trying to heat a cold apartment. It's a little far from the law school but is right on a bus route and is pet friendly (I don't have pets but see a lot of dogs and cats here). There are also good amenities (gym, laundry in each building, pool, leasing office accepts packages) and management tries to have some kind of property-wide activity every month or so.

Quiet and spacious 1BR off campus
Very spacious and comfortable renovated 1BR, 1B about two miles off campus right on a bus route to campus (the 62). Excellent for pets. Responsive, nice management. Quiet community and very safe. Washer/dryer combo in unit.

Hidden Valley Club Review
I love my apartment. It's clean and modern appliances, and it's a great price for living alone. It's a little far from campus but there is the 62 bus and I have a car. I don't feel like I'm not a part of campus life at all. Instead I get to be involved on campus when I want to, and I get to retreat back to my own space when I want to.
