Society Hill at Piscataway

I live in a 2bed, 2bath. both bedrooms are located upstairs with each having it's own bathroom. During the summer, the temperature difference between the 1st and 2nd floor can be drastically different, so make sure to work that out with your roommate.

This is a safe neighborhood of students and working families alike. Many units are getting renovated each year which is good for the tenants, at the risk of higher rents. This is where I'll be for all of medical school.

This apartment has many issues and a non responsive landlord. It is very difficult to get any maintenance issues fixed such as plumbing and electrical making it a difficult place to live. The area is very busy, but very far from gas stations and grocery stores.

It's great. Close to school, a lot of space, and close to most other med students, although the rent increases by at least $100 a year :(

Hi everyone! Congrats on getting into RWJ! My roommate and I live in a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom unit in society hill 5 minutes away from the Piscataway med school campus. We are both third years at RWJ and have been in the same unit since M1 year. We will also probably stay here for our M4 year! Some pros of this unit for us are its affordability, quiet neighborhood, proximity to school and classmates, communicative landlord, and large size/space. Some cons are that the appliances and carpeting are 10+ years old and probably won’t be changed during our time here, but that’s the trade off we made.

5 minute drive from school and lots of medical students (especially M1s and M2s) live in the Society Hill neighborhood. Every living situation isn’t perfect as Society Hill isn’t the most up to date, but it is one of the more affordable options and some places are more renovated than others. Definitely works for a student living situation, but make sure to check how your landlord would be/acts.

The apartment is well located less than a five minute drive to RWJMS. Neighbors and neighborhood are quiet, there is 1 parking spot included. The owners are very responsive and upkeep the property well. It is almost completely carpeted and it is on the first floor, but the neighborhood is so safe it doesn't make a difference (in fact makes it easier to move in). A little expensive for the space, but the convenience can't be beat.

This unit is more updated than other SoHi units, despite being the same price. We are the only medical students on our street, making it very quiet and comfortable. My roommate and I plan on living here for several years b/c it is so close to school and local shopping. Our house is often the central meeting spot for our friend groups.

Living in SoHi is great.

The apartment is older (old appliances, carpet flooring, not very efficient), but is everything you need in an apartment. There is just enough space and everything works pretty well.
