Fine apartment, good price
This is my third year at Crosstown. The apartments are pretty large for a decent amount of space, but they're also getting a little older and the maintenance issues have gotten worse as I've been here. There aren't a ton of other MBA students that live in the community, but it's right across from Blu on Farrington, so carpooling was not an issue when we were in person.

Quiet, Ideal Location
The apartment is in a great location - 10 minutes from Kenan-Flagler Business School and fast, easy access to the highway. Very close to The Morgan and Alta Blu - other apartment communities where MBA students live. Quiet neighborhood, fast maintenance, large renovated apartments. Apartment gym and pack/parcel system is sub-par. Very nice, big apartments for a reasonable price.

Old, but great
the complex was built in the late 80's or early 90's. the buildings feel old, as does the landscaping. yet if you're looking for a standard apartment to live in with the same amenities offered at the morgan or alta blu for a discount its great.
pro tip, this complex is close to highway 40. be sure to stand at the building you sign up for to listen for highway noise as it is very prevalent. the noise is constant.

Great place to live
Crosstown is a very quiet place, where you can relax. We have 2 great pools with barbecue. a small and simple, but enough, gym. good place for people that have pets. It has a lot of space, apartments are not "on top of one another". It takes 15 or less to get to school driving. It is better if you have a car, public transportation will take you 40 min.

Great price, and overall we love our apartment!
My boyfriend and I looked all around Durham and the northern parts of Chapel Hill for a safe apartment. We found that Crosstown at Chapel Hill had a very affordable price, safe location, and we loved the interior of our apartment. Since we have moved here our experience with management has been mixed. However, overall, if you're on a budget, this is a good place to life.

Fine place, but sometimes noisy
I lived here for almost 3 years in 2 different units. The basement units are very dark, and did not feel as safe, so I moved to a third floor. It was nice--high ceilings, sunlight, and I loved the wood-burning fireplaces (on the 6123 side, they all have fireplaces I believe).
However, if you have a loud neighbor, it can make all the difference. For a while we had very quiet, respectful neighbors. Then, somebody moved in whose living room wall was shared by our bedroom. They watched television extremely loud and/or played loud music with heavy bass. I had to call the apartment security. This is not the apartment's fault entirely, but beware of thin walls. It can break an otherwise lovely living experience.
We lived in the largest 1 BR floor plan and it was generous. Large bedroom and large closet.

Great management
The management team is great and very friendly!! The clubhouse has great amenities, I just wish the gym was bigger. The access to video games are a good touch, too. It would be better if things like cable or utilities were included in the rent. More access to the dumpster and a recycling center would be a great addition.
