Great space
A very clean apt with a pretty quiet atmosphere. This building mainly houses older grad students (typically 30 yrs or older). there are not many mms or MQM students living here but and there are not many MQM student living in surrounding apts, however 9th street had everything you could possibly need and that’s a bonus. My apt is great quality and the facilities here are also great.

810 Ninth Street Review
Ninth Street is great

Happy medium
Overall 810 is good. The location is close to everything and it is not too loud/rowdy like S9 or dead like B9. Management is helpful whenever you need anything but is a little too strict on noise.

My experience living at 810 for two years
810 is a newer complex on Ninth street. It's an immaculate and organized community. The amenities are great. It's within walking distance of everything on the Ninth street. This can be a con or a pro, depending on you. The management is very strict with everything starting from how many people you can have as a guest, not having any gatherings in the building without management permission, etc. Also, it's pretty apparent that the whole apartment is made of wood, so you can hear your upstairs neighbor all the time. The parking garage is a maze and everyone drive around it like a maniac. Whoever came up with the parking design should be awarded the designer of the decade! The big question is that is it the apartment worth the current asking price that management believes it's fair to ask. I would say no, for sure. The apartment complexes on Ninth street are aware that Duke graduate students prefer to live in these apartments, and as a result they're increasing prices yearly.

Great facilities and staff
Excellent facilities and staff. The one thing I don’t like is the mandatory cable and trash valet. The trash valet service is terrible and just adds to an already expensive rent.

I enjoy living in 810 due to location, responsive management, nice apartment units, etc

Great apartment (clean, nice and chill)
Great apartment for people who want to be close to social events, but not in the middle of it all. At 810 I am two blocks away from the party building (S9) but have much more privacy and tranquility.
Also, the majority of Fuqua MBAs are on 9th st (S9, B9, and 810) so you are within walking distance for gatherings, and people are very generous in offering carpool rides (there is a slack channel where people ask and offer rides to and from school, airport, etc).
A significant benefit of 810 is that, unlike the other big buildings, apartments open to a closed hallway (you are not cold during winter), and it reduces the chances of you having cockroaches (the main reason I chose 810).
The 810 building is much smaller than S9 and B9, which I like because people don't get lost trying to find my apartment, and it doesn't take me forever to leave the building.
Final note, I live in a studio apartment, but it is pretty big for a studio apartment. It has a separation, a half wall between the "bedroom area" and "living area + kitchen".

Nice one-bedroom apartment
810 is a good apartment complex and I have a nice one-bedroom apartment. There is not a ton of space but there are nice amenities including a gym, pool, and parking.

Great location and management!
I love this apartment. My apartment has a lot of natural light and I've never had any issues with bugs or maintenance issues. It's a little pricey for the Durham area but a great location and amenities and is close to the majority of Fuqua students. The gym is fairly basic, but it is perfect for what I need (treadmill, Stairmaster, bikes, weights, etc.) and the pool is lovely and open all year long, unlike other apartment complexes nearby.

Unsustainable prices
Convenient location and decent amenities.
However, its cost has ballooned tremendously in the past year making it no longer worth its added benefits. The windows are also thin, so poor noise insulation.
