810 Ninth Street Review
Nicest Option on 9th Street

Good choice but depends on what you are looking for
I like the apartment because of: 1) location (9th st), 2) amenities (not that I use them so much) like gym, pool, barbecue station, bonfire, free coffee, 3) structure (it is not a big complex so you always find someone to talk to in the lobby), 4) a lot of the people who live here became my friends (a lot of internationals too)
BUT: 1) the leasing office is not as flexible or helpful with residents as in other complexes 2) old people live here so depending on where your apartment is, you could receive noise complaints even just because you are watching a movie and laughing about it 3) There is only one conference room for the entire building

You pay a lot and mostly get what you pay for
It is a luxury apartment and difficult to justify the money I have spent on it, personally. But, if you want to live in a nice apt on 9th st - I think it is probably the best of the 3.
My bike got stolen out of the parking garage. So, take that for what it is worth too.

Its pretty clean
The apartment complex is pretty clean compared to the others and is usually quiet during the day compared to the other apartment places.

Great building with nice amenities
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice amenities. Units are decently sized. Only drawbacks are the amount of noise from emergency vehicles (specifically fire trucks from the fire station down the road) that travel on Ninth Street during the night and the amount of noise we can hear from our upstairs neighbors through our ceiling / their floor.

810 Ninth Street Review
Good, Elegant, Expensive

Good for pet owners, good location, could be cheaper
great for a FY fuqua student with a great dog park if you're a pet owner. It's a bit smaller and thus more manageable than the other ninth street apartments. The rent is still expensive relative to the Durham area, but not to other apartment complexes.

Best 9th st area choice
I think some of the “what do you like” choices are a little leading. Yes I think the gym and pool are great—is it nicer than the gym/pool club to which I belonged in DC, no but it’s good for an apartment complex.
810 is definitely the best choice if you want to live on 9th st. They are very responsive in my experience and very fast on maintenance.

Reliable, friendly, clean, and well-maintained
Really responsive and helpful front desk. If you have an issue, they are responsive and willing to help. Submitting a service request is very easy through the resident portal and the maintenance team comes very quickly. Amenities are always functional and in good condition. Location is prime and close to both Harris Teeter and Whole Foods. Only complaint would be that the floors/walls are a bit thin. I don't hear anything from my adjacent neighbors, but if you have a neighbor above with heavy footsteps, you will probably hear them. Also, the hallways are enclosed unlike S9 and parts of B9. I didn't realize this was a thing at S9/B9, but having normal enclosed hallways is huge and feels safer than walking out of your unit and being in open air/looking right at the garage parking.
