Dorm is the best
Not fancy but frustration-free. If not, search the bus route so that it take only one bus to your school.

Convenience comes at the cost of mediocre dorm-living
Yes, it’s cheap enough considering everything that’s included (parking is an extra $1,000 per year FYI). The bus stop to campus is close, the grad student gym is walkable, and you’re in the heart of Westwood. Downsides: dorm furniture, ugly and poorly insulated, slow WiFi, and all kinds of unforeseen maintenance issues (hot water is turned off at least twice per semester), the firm alarms go off a LOT (I’m talking a LOT - this will drive you crazy), installations of new safety devices occur every school year at least, etc. And if you live on a top floor, there is a chance that a water boiler or some other machine above your ceiling will be so loud you will have to move apartments mid-semester.... And you will always be the one to go to your friends’ places, because there’s no guest parking and who would want to throw a party in Weyburn anyway?
TL;DR it’s convenient, but living here for a while really starts to get to you.

Weyburn Terrace - Sycamore Review

Overpriced with no perks
They graduate Student housing is incredibly expensive but poorly maintained. I’ve moved into a new studio where no windows lock, some open on their own, the heater can’t be set lower than 80, and there are constantly maintenance alarms going off that aren’t addressed. Despite having mailboxes and package mailboxes in the complex, you have to go to a different building to pick up any packages (including padded envelopes). Maintenance requests are rarely fulfilled, and only if you call back several times over the course of a month. Apts are poorly cleaned between users, raising the risk of fires in the oven. Walls are very thin, and the the doors don’t seal completely. Go somewhere else.

University Housing is the Path of Least Resistance
I am a low-income student from Michigan, so doing an extensive apartment search was out of the question. I needed to find housing that I could trust without seeing it in person, and I was fortunate enough to take advantage of the reserved housing slots that the Law School receives. While rent is exorbitantly high from my perspective (housing costs are a fraction of this in Michigan), I have heard that Weyburn Terrace is still comparatively low for Westwood. Having utilities included and payments processed through UCLA is definitely convenient, and I did not have to worry about walking into an overpriced pit by opting for University housing.
Overall, the housing is comfortable for the price, and it's about what you'd expect for student housing. The appliances are a little worn down because student tenants are notorious for not properly maintaining their living spaces, but I've lived with much older appliances and know how to work with them. Admittedly, though, these appliances look like they're in worse shape than my 25-year-old stove and 20-year-old refrigerator at home. The carpet is also fairly cheap and looks beat up compared to the 25-year-old carpet in my house that sees huge, dirty dogs running through it. Considering how bad students are at cleaning up after themselves, a much more serious, deep cleaning between tenants would be greatly appreciated. I still can't get my shower door tracks clean because they've been neglected for who knows how many years. Housing maintenance is generally prompt, and they're a friendly group. The fire alarms are buggy, so they've been known to go off all day before Housing can figure out a solution. I don't anticipate that problem going away. It always seems to happen during exam season, which makes it all the more disruptive.
I can't afford parking here, but the garages seem serviceable. Tandem spaces are a weird concept, but folks seem to adapt pretty quickly to that. You just have to be trusting enough of your tandem-mate to move your car when you're blocking them in. My guess is that this is typical of Los Angeles parking , so I'm not sure that you can avoid it elsewhere.
Campus is within walking distance, and the University bus ride is only around ten minutes. I wish the buses ran more frequently and on more extended hours. There is a free evening van service after the buses stop running (except on Friday for some reason), but expect that to take at least a half hour.
Overall, this is about the best you can get on a budget. If you've got the money to spend, it's worth shopping around. But if you're stressed out about trying to find somewhere to live that's close to campus and in serviceable shape, then I'd recommend University housing. It's by far the easiest option to take.

Good Place
Some of the amenities (elevators mostly) don't work as well as I'd like. Units are fine. Neighbors (other grad students) aren't too noisy. Best part is closeness to campus.

Gets the job done
Pros:
* Easy to get to the law school: there's a shuttle that goes directly from Weyburn to the law school in ~15 mins.
* My studio apartment is very quiet, making studying here easy; most of my friends with roommates have found studying at their apartment easy as well, given that their roommates are often equally busy grad students.
* The units come fully furnished; the studio was far less sparsely furnished than I thought it would be.
* Safety: each building requires a keycard to enter, and each unit requires a keycard and pin. The complex can only be entered/exited by vehicle through a series of automatic gates, and the garages are accessible only by keycard as well.
Cons:
* Fire alarm issues are persistent. On average, once every 2-3 months there has been a false alarm in my building (Aloe). Other buildings have this issue too, though I'm not sure what the frequency is. I've seen complaints about Weyburn's fire alarm system going back nearly a decade on other internet forums, so I'm not sure why management hasn't found a solution to what can be a highly disruptive--though admittedly rare--annoyance.
* Bar and restaurant scene in Westwood is pitiful (though Weyburn is a relatively short Uber ride from Santa Monica, Culver City, Beverly Hills, etc.).
* Some of the buildings are particularly old, and have common issues like windows not opening/closing properly, sinks that clog frequently, etc. However, the maintenance staff is extremely responsive for these types of issues.

Convenient and Reasonable Price
I think that Weyburn is a great option for those who are okay with a furnished apartment. The location is very convenient and all utilities are included in the rent. Parking is a bit pricey, but it also allows you to park on UCLA campus after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on the weekend. There is also a shuttle from the complex to school which runs about every ten minutes during the week. I'd say Weyburn is a 10 for convenience and an 8 for value.

Weyburn has all the convenience
The convenience of Weyburn housing is great for walking to campus everyday (bus & bike access too) and makes it easier to relocate from far away since it is refurnished. The facilities aren't the newest, but they are plenty sufficient for living and cooking. There are a lot of Anderson students in the complex and it can provide opportunities to connect with the greater graduate student community at UCLA.

Overall experience
The alarms went off several times during night unexpected and most probably something was wrong. Hot water issues as well in the first few months. Except for that, it was great.
