A nice place to live

The common areas are always clean, it's an easy walking distance to school, units have spacious bathrooms and tall ceilings, great and fast maintenance team. Only complaint is packages are easily stolen because there is not a locker or hub so they leave them outside your apartment door.

Living at Sabina is convenient but expensive

Living at Sabina is mostly fine. It's very convenient, since it's super close to the law school, there is plenty of parking in the garage, the maintenance is always timely, some law student friends also live in the building which is nice, and the apartments themselves are generally really nice.
The downside is that the apartments are SO expensive.

Very close to school and close to lots of law students

Sabina is far from perfect but it's super close to school, not crazy expensive, all my friends live in the building or in Marq or Aura, and parking is free. I can walk to school and there's coffee shops and grocery stores nearby.

Probably as good as it's going to get

Okay so here's the deal. When it comes to nice apartments close to the law school, this is as good as it's going to get. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty nice place, but still fairly expensive if you sign a lease starting in August.
Pros: 15 minutes walking distance to law school, plus bus to law school if you're lazy and it's less than a 5 minute walk. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, balcony, in unit washer/dryer, dishwasher with garbage disposal, pool, gym. My closet is HUGE. Parking is included with rent. Valet trash service. I like that there are tons of law school students here.
Cons: Your car will get broken into. But I think that might be a problem anywhere in Austin? Also, the hallways smell kinda funky sometimes. Your packages will also get stolen. Between this and the Marq, it's probably better at the Marq. They have a package room so there's less of a chance your package will get stolen (although I've had friends who have had their packages lost there so maybe it's a crap shot). Marq hallways also don't smell funky. Marq also has a rooftop whereas Sabina doesn't.
All in all, I'm very happy living here. Pro tip - sign your lease early (like June) to avoid seasonal spikes in pricing and get locked into a good rate.

Good amenities and new floor plans. But, there is a decent amount of crime especially with packages and cars.

Elevators are really slow. There are package thieves. Cars have been broken into in the garage.

perfectly fine

The space is large and the layout of the apartment is good. The appliances are nice too. The amenities- fitness center+pool+business center are all great as well. The security is lacking, cars keep getting broken into and they don't do anything and packages keep getting stolen from front doors and they still won't let us have ring doorbells (they don't have security cameras in the halls). My apartment itself is nice but the building as a whole has some issues but really it could be worse.

Sabina

It has been a nice place to live but management are difficult to get a hold of on the phone & email. Best to deal with them in person. Security issues, car break-ins occur.

Happy with Sabina but safety could be more of a priority

Overall, I like where I live, but I think Sabina could put more of an emphasis on safety for residents.

Overpriced w/lax security

Cannot recommend Sabina to incoming students. I have lived here all three years, and the building has continued to go downhill. Currently, the building is experiencing a rash of package thefts and car break-ins (even though we have a gated garage). Management is doing nothing to prevent or ameliorate the situation other than blame the residents. Little to no security cameras on site.

Management Sucks

It's a nice building but bad management. Packages keep getting stolen and they don't do anything about it. Lots of cars get broken into as well. Super convenient but you should probably just live at Marq or Aura for similar price.

About Hancock

North of the University of Texas and close to downtown is surprisingly quaint and quiet Hancock, a neighborhood highly desired by professionals, families, university students and faculty. Many homes adorning the neighborhood were built in the early 1900s, and are charming modestly-sized bungalows. ...

Getting around Hancock

Hancock Reviews

Great neighborhood. Lived here for a major portion of my grad school. Close to HEB/gym/takeouts/bus stops/coffee shops/ greenery.
It's a pretty nice walkable area. The roads are busy and the interstate is loud. There are also a decent number of homeless people and bikes get stolen frequently. That said, it's nice to have the golf course nearby as well as cafes, grocery stores and convenience stores.
The people that live in the neighborhood are fine. Generally keep to themselves. It is near a bus stop and hospital so there are often homeless people walking around, but they seldom attempt to interact. I have had several packages go missing.
The neighborhood is close to the law school, but avoids most of the undergraduate crowds. Sometimes it can get a little loud at night, but it’s overall a pretty quiet neighborhood.
The Hancock neighborhood is very nice with very nice people. So many law students live in Uptown and Sabina, it's nice to have a close group of people from the school.
Right now there are lots of construction workers on one side of the apartment complex otherwise it is pretty empty. Just people walking dogs or running.
The neighborhood is mostly residential with a handful of small shops and restaurants - the biggest value add is its proximity to campus.
Neighborhood is mostly fine, although in the past couple months there have been a few homeless individuals obviously on drugs outside the complex (one in our recycling dumpster, a couple wandering around our parking lot, which is supposed to be kept closed -- due to a change in the property management company recently, a gate issue is taking longer than normal to fix). Other than that, the neighborhood seems pretty safe. I feel safe walking around the area in the evening, walking to the grocery store at night, etc. The only other issue I've had with walking in the area is with people walking their badly-behaved pit bull dogs that like to snap at passersby, but I think that's probably a problem everywhere in the South. Lighting on the streets could be better. The neighborhood appears to be comprised mostly of university students and some young professionals, so I wouldn't say it's family-friendly.
