Maplewood Apartments

-Reasonable rent, though not the least expensive apartments

Overall not a bad place. But the problem is that they don't allow you to choose the specific location of your apartment. So you might get lucky and end up in a nice spot but there is also a considerable chance that you end up in a terrible place (etc. next to the garbage compactors, first floor next to the sidewalk, basement with small windows). And you pay the same price no matter the location! Also important to know is that the walls are very thin at Maplewood, so you need to be also lucky in terms of (next door, upstairs etc.) neighbors. Otherwise you will regret living here. Also parking fee is extremely high.

It's a nice complex, although not super well built. Price is reasonable for what you get in Ithaca. Walls are thin which can be annoying but hasn't been a huge problem. Kind of far from the commons, which is where people hang out, etc. but you can make it work.

Great shape, it includes all the basic stuff you need, is a pretty neighborhood and the maintenance is great and quick.

Best place to live as a grad student! New, cheap, and most of the class lives here

Apartment is ok but wasn't very clean upon move in.
Management are very poor . We found office staff to be unresponsive and unhelpful prior to move in. The advertised monthly price per room is misleading (you will be charged a full month's rent in August despite only being allowed in the property for 9 days). There have also been numerous errors by management which caused issues for residents: Management shut down the online payment portal during the final days of the month which forced all residents to pay by check for October.

In summary - decent apartment, ok location, terrible management. Feels like they're just out to squeeze as much money as possible from residents. I would not live here again, it isn't worth the high price at all.

Rent is reasonable and unit is new for the most part. Most Staff are friendly, but the property manager (Kevin) is very rude, disrespectful, and unresponsive. Will not hesitate to throw out fines for any issue that arises, but will not respond to requests to clarify the situation or speak further. Very unprofessional.

Maplewood is decent. Great for the price.
