Convenient for taking classes

It is very close to JBJ building, tidewater, and Hutchinson Building, therefore it is convenient for me to take classes and attend lab. It also has some groceries shops nearby, which is also convenient.
Tulane also has shuttles to help students do grocery shopping from Deming Pavilion to Walmart. It also has a Tulane fitness center on the lobby.
There is One thing that i don’t like is the windows. The windows are all sealed (which means I cannot open to make the room ventilation )

Great housing complex

I live in a studio and I love the experience so far, however it’s kind of expensive.

Increase sound insulation measures

I live in a room close to the street. It is very noisy every day except at midnight. I can hear the sound of cars and loud music. I hope the sound insulation measures can be improved. Sometimes I can hear the noise from the neighbors, which really affects my rest.

Deming Pavilion

Deming is extremely convenient for working/studying at the Tulane SOM, but keep in mind you are in the middle of a downtown area and that the amenities are rather basic.

Review of deming

The building is fine to live in with fare prices, free coffee on weekdays. Electricity and water included in the fee and 24hr guards with backup generators. But the windows are locked and there are no many free parking spots around. No dinner options close to the building except the subways in the hospital.

Feeds its purpose

Simple, no frills studio. Very small but doable for one person. Outdated, utilities included.

Average On-campus Graduate Housing

Pros- close to med school, skybridge to hospital (which then leads to Murphy) which allows for late night studying at Matas and then safe walking home, security downstairs, trash service, all utilities included, quick maintenance, washing/dryers on every floor

Cons- rats outside in garbage, some people had problems with roaches, not the most updated facilities, walls thin, smells from other people's apartments leaked into hallways, small studio is very small, no way to meet other people in the apartment which I guess I expected because it's on-campus housing and my undergrad held things for us to meet in the dorms

Deming is Comfortable

Nice community with med students, graduate students, and residents. Friendly staff. Very convenient for students, like myself, who do not have a car. Rent is just under $700/mo per tenant in the 2 bedroom/1 bath which is very reasonable. Some downsides are that the windows do not open and the building struggles with cockroaches.
