Do not live at City Place
I cannot emphasize how much I dislike living here. The management is so wildly disorganized and unresponsive (like, so bad we consulted a housing attorney). I went nearly 5 months with incorrect amounts due showing on my payment portal, despite numerous requests for them to fix it. I ended up having to pay almost $7,000 in a lump sum. The apartment was filthy when I moved in, and the carpet is truly disgusting. Furniture in common areas is quite literally falling apart, we spent almost $250 on couch covers so we could sit on them without the fake leather flaking off onto us. When our carbon monoxide detectors went off, we were unable to access any sort of emergency maintenance. Once the fire department got the property manager involved, their solution was to just unscrew the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors until they could fix them. As a result, our apartment was without these devices for over 48 hours. There is only one dumpster and a few small recycling bins for hundreds of residents, and as a result, the amount of trash strewn around the parking lot literally got City Place fined by the city. Management’s first response was to send an incredibly aggressive email to residents blaming us for throwing trash on the ground (instead of the overflowing bins) and lying about how often trash is picked up. Things only got better once the City of Ann Arbor got involved. Packages are just thrown in the entryways 75% of the time. The main door scanner is broken, so anyone can come into the building at anytime. There are ceiling panels missing in the main entryway, with insulation hanging down. It’s been this way for months. One of our neighbors stole our doormat. Have to contact higher ups at the property management company Just a nightmare living here, the location isn’t worth it.

Worst Property Manager Ever
The property manager for City Place is the absolute worst person I have ever had to work with in my life. My roommates and I couldn't contact her for almost 3 months with EXTREMELY urgent questions about paying rent and getting a copy of our lease. We ultimately had to contact Campus Village corporate multiple times to even be able to pay rent and are still (~5 months later) having many issues with contacting her. We have had especially pressing concerns with regards to maintenance for our fire alarms—we were utterly unable to contact anyone to come fix them when they had been going off for hours. Overall, would never recommend to anyone.

City Place
City Place has been great for us. There are six of us, each with our own en-suite bathroom. It has nice furnishings and appliances so it’s easy to keep clean. The closets and common spaces are very spacious so it never feels cramped. And the landlord is responsive and helpful.

Nice new place, great management, and need a little improvement
City Place is a new property, nicely furnished, and property management does an impressive work. The location is perfect - close to downtown, and right next to Blake Transit Center. However, I live on the ground floor and this changes the experience a little bit. The apartment is not as satisfying when it comes to noise proofing, so I need to deal with noise from the public spaces in the apartment, as well as noise from the parking lot.

Great location, comfortable and large units
5-6 bedroom with individual bathrooms for each tenant. Shared spaces are very large, easy to host large groups. Mostly comprised of graduate student residents with some upperclassmen undergraduates.

Good Facility and central location
I have quite good experience with CityPlace. Location is very convenient to Ross and downtown restaurants so I don't really need a car here. I live with 5 other MBA students.

Expensive but worth it IMO
City Place is on the higher end when it comes to cost. However, 6 huge/furnished bedrooms and 6 full bathrooms justifies the cost for the most part. We're all good friends and wanted to live together so it made sense for us. There's a spacious kitchen/living room downstairs and a HUGE media room upstairs. Parties of 60+ people are no problem here.
The upstairs media room comes with a 60" TV with surround sound and downstairs has your own washer/dryer. Every room gets a mini fridge and microwave too.

City Place - perfect for a group of friends!
City Place is great for a group of MBA students. Everyone gets their own bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. The media room/living room is perfect for football games and the entire apartment is also great for entertaining. The management company is pretty prompt with the minimal repairs that have been required and the property is only 2-3 years old.
