Bad elevators

It is very convenient. Great 60th floor rooftop that’s open from ~May to ~October. Gym is great with a sauna and steam room. Indoor pool is small and rarely used. Elevators consistently are broken.

Elevators often broken

Overall, my experience has been satisfactory. The worst thing is that every few weeks 1-2 out of the 4 elevators will break, creating very long wait times. It's not exactly feasible to take the stairs to/from the 49th floor. Some of my friends have also had issues with flooding that I hear management isn't very responsive about.

ok if you’re willing to settle

axis is fine if you want a place that’s close to school. otherwise, it is not well maintained (leaking floors/ceilings, broken elevators, broken laundry room, broken appliances). it is expensive for what you’re getting, but again, the location is convenient if you’re going to be at / near the hospital often. bad response time for requests, rude staff (some, while others are great!), super expensive, pretty view. also horrible temperature control / insulation- expect to pay more than $200 a month in winter just for heat if you want to be moderately comfortable.

Good apartment with no major issues

Biggest issues are the elevators being occasionally down. Haven't had any major problems, maintenance is pretty responsive to any problems. Easy package pickup, safe building.

Thank you!

I'm going to miss this view! After 3 years with Axis Apartments, I am relocating for a new job (and warm weather). While I'm excited for my new adventure, I am sad to be leaving this view and the place I've called home. I need to give special thanks to the maintenance team and the office staff. They have made my time here amazing. The last year has been challenging but they still find ways to show their appreciation. Thank you for the last 3 years!

More than 5 stars!

My experience has been more than 5 Stars! The building is lovely and super clean. Which is something that I have been looking for since COVID 19. They have taken the proper precautions to ensure the safety of their residents. When touring the building they were very helpful and sweet. They took no short cuts with answering any of my questions. If you're looking for a nice, friendly, clean place to stay this is the place

Good things

Having lived in this property for more than 2 years, I have very good things to say about it. I did a careful research and picked the most ideal unit for me and the overall combination of location, service, and amenities available are excellent while - as in any place - there are challenges, the building is addressing them in the most optimal manner. I have no reason to move!

Streeterville Reviews

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
