Lots of Kellogg Students

The building is new and with all amenities such as in unit laundry and gym. While E2 is a great place to live, I noticed the construction quality is lacking in some areas. For instance, the floors are a cheap laminate, and none of the bedrooms have lighting (you have to buy your own).

Love building and amenities

I really love the building and all the amenities. The staff can be frustrating at times but you generally just have to be patient

Nice Place

The unit itself is very nice, the building has all kellogg students which is 100% the reason to live there, location is convenient to the hub but the management SUCKS and is a total mess

Luxury suburban living close to Kellogg classmates

My roommate and I chose E2 because it is a popular building among Kellogg students, it's pretty much brand new, has new bathroom and kitchen appliances, and had full floor of a common area for socializing and exercising. It is also a nice 18 minute walk to the Kellogg building on Northwestern's campus and I usually find someone to walk with, which has helped me meet my classmates. The management has been a bit disorganized regarding keeping track of our paperwork and we had a little trouble with our mail being delivered for the first two months of living here, but overall we are happy with our decision to live here. It is expensive though, but given the demand, it's the price we had to pay.

All Kellogg

E2's best feature is that "everyone lives there." It has become the de facto Kellogg dorm, and it's super convenient to organize social events there. On top of that, it's just nice to see your friends in the halls consistently.
The biggest downside is that the management team is terrible. On top of being incompetent, they are also sometimes rude. For example, I signed my lease about a month before the move-in date but did not receive my keys or move-in details until literally the day before I was supposed to move in. E2 was so non-responsive leading up to this date that I actually had to push back my moving date on my own. The management team then turned around and tried to blame it one me. This is just one example of their complete lack of professionalism. [Note: this does not include the doormen and maintenance staff, who are top notch.]

Pretty great

Amenities are definitely a selling point of the building (front desk service, basketball court, outdoor pool and hot tub in summer, lots of lounge space, gym, etc.)

Location is pretty great too.

Management could be better. They are trying, and do okay once you're settled in. But to get the lease application in, set up, and to get moved in and settled was a real pain in the a**! Be prepared for a long, frustrating process.

Great central location for Kellogg students

Definitely more expensive on average than the rest of the market, but the building is excellent and it is a central location for Kellogg students...so you will not have to go far for team meetings, social/parties, etc.

Best building, but premium price

In my view, E2 is one of the best (if not the best) housing option for Kellogg students. It's new and has great amenities, including a pool, gym, and study areas. On the other hand, it's extremely pricey, with 1BR rates comparable to those found in markets like New York or San Francisco -- you'll also receive smallish square footage for those prices. Kind of a tough sell for Evanston. In addition, the office/leasing staff can be rude and incompetent (nice doormen though).

Downtown Evanston Reviews

Lots of apartments and family homes in the area. I always see someone riding their bike or walking throughout the day. It's a block from the police station, and only 2-3 blocks to downtown. Close to intercampus shuttle, 201 bus stop (3 blocks), and Dempster purple line (1.5 blocks). Nice area to live, quiet at night.
Downtown Evanston is a great place to live if you're a NU student. It's super easy to get to campus via either walking or the bus, and has convenient groceries within walking distance. The food scene is not the best, but good enough.
Evanston is the epitome of a college town, everything you need and most of what you want is within a 10 minute walk.
I really enjoy living in downtown Evanston. Everything that I need is within walking distance, and it is a 10-15 minute walk to my classes.
Safe, walkable area, even late at night depending on the streets you take. Great for convenience in terms of getting to campus, no car needed, access to many public transit options. You lose out in terms of cheap food options and fun nightlife - there are only a couple of bars open after 9PM on the weekends and for cheap food you're stuck with Chipotle or at best Tomate. But the lake and beach are within walking distance and you live close to other NU students making it well worth it for me.
Evanston really is a nice town. There's loads of food, both chains and otherwise, and a number of shops and things if you don't mind moving around a little. Driving in the greater Evanston area is not a lot of fun, I will say. I get the sense that the city doesn't much like the University and its constituents, and that the students don't always respect the city. It's not a perfect relationship, but it works. I can easily walk or take transit to class on the Evanston campus, and when I have class in Chicago I take transit, which usually takes more than an hour in the morning and close to an hour coming home.
Downtown Evanston is super cute! There are tons of restaurants and a handful of bars so I find that it offers a good bit of variety for the neighborhood size. There are street festivals, a great farmers market, summer concerts in the square and other community events I've enjoyed. Would highly recommend Evanston anyone who wants access to the city but a self-sufficient "urban burb" type neighborhood.
Pros: Great location near key Kellogg hangouts like World of Beer, Nevins, Five and Dime, Prairie Moon, etc. Also convenient to Bennison's Bakery! Great for late nights- can get home in < 5 minutes without ubering. Also near both Metra and L- ideal if you plan to spend some of your time in downtown Chicago.

Cons: Long walk from the Global hub. Closest grocery store is Whole Foods, a bit of a hike to TJ's and Jewel.
