Hidden gem & incredible management

Spacious, new amenities/furnishings, incredibly friendly management & staff.
Any issues (e.g. light bulb) get fixed on the same day.
Building plans bi-weekly events/happy hours in the lobby, e.g. holiday wine&cheese, free pretzel day etc.
FREE bus right outside the building every 10-15minutes to school.
Great proximity to Trader Joe's, the trolley, Hubub, Wawa, Matt & Maries, 18th St Suburban Station (train to NY).

Quiet and closer than you think

A lot of people think Arch Street is way too far, but it's not. It's a five-minute walk to Rittenhouse Square and it is close to the trolley station at 19th/Market, so getting to campus is easy (and more convenient than getting on an overcrowded bus on Walnut). The value is fantastic - great front desk folks, spacious and renovated, great for people who want to have a bit of quiet but want to be walkable to the action in RIttenhouse.

Great building, with friendly doormen and modern kitchens

1835 Arch is a great building to live in, especially if you are ok with being 3-4 blocks away from Rittenhouse Square. It's clean throughout and constructed well, with high ceilings and newly-renovated kitchens. The doormen are friendly and there is little noise (thick walls between units). And even though it is farther from campus than Rittenhouse, it is only two blocks from the trolley line, which zips you to class more quickly than the SEPTA bus does.

Most friendly and clean apartment building in Philly.

Best building in Philly. New appliances, extremely friendly staff, maintenance responds to any issues on the same day (only had a light bulb change thus far). Regular food/drinks in lobby. Gym and conference room included in building. Best decision as a Wharton student. No issues with elevators, pests, management etc. Only tradeoff is the couple minutes walk north of the square, but closer than many other buildings. $500 referral policy. Efficient utilities (only ~$25-$35 for 1bed/month). Could not be happier about my decision. Signed 2 year lease to lock in the rate and subletted for a month before move-in. Can/will also sublet for the summer. I have lived in several apartments across New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, and this building is hands down the best experience.

Excellent building that is extremely well maintained

Historic building in excellent condition. Any issues are addressed promptly, the location is fantastic and the trolley stop is very easy to get to. I also really like the loft style units with tall ceilings.

Close enough to the square and excellent apartment

It's not as far from rittenhouse as people make it seem. It's actually only a 10 minute walk to the square. And super close to the trolley stop at 19th and market.

Love The Lofts at 1835

Almost total occupancy at The Lofts. We have super-spacious apartments with high ceilings, excellent staff (doormenrepairmen). The building is super couple and family friendly. We are minutes from Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Plus we are a block from the trolley station - so no slow bus to campus in the winter.I love love love this building and wish I could find something this great yet affordable in another city.

Nice overall, but loud on Friday/Saturday late-night

Pros: Nice doormen, good location near Logan Square, short walk to 19th street trolley, easy access to suburban station and airport line train, Benjamin Franklin Pkwy is great for evening walkstouring with out of town guests. Cons: South-facing building across from large surface parking lot and adjacent to large development under construction. Street noise can be bad on weekend late-nights, especially due to Mission Grill, which turns into a night club on Friday and Saturday nights 10PM-2AM. In hindsight: Living on NorthNorthwest side of building at least 7 floors up should solve these issues and add nice views.

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
